I paid a visit to Tong's Tropical Fish in Fountain Valley, CA the other day and saw this beautiful scoly! At 6k, this one is going to one special collector! I thought it was some kind of new coral. I've never seen such a thing. If I remember right, I think it's called "Flat Line scoly" It's supposed to be the highest grade coral. I forget the first word, it's something _____ unique grade. Just wanted to share. Picture was taken with a Samsung Galaxy phone with no filter.

It's beautiful but I wouldn't pay $6k for it. To my untrained eye maybe it's the color combination that doesn't make it seem like it should cost that much. How big is it? Are we talking a 1" frag or is that a 1' beast? I would be too stressed about it dying to enjoy it. :-)

It's about 3 to 4 inches. I would say that's a normal size for scolys, at least for the ones I've seen so far. You're right, it doesn't have those crazy strips color combination but that's what makes it look unique. It's for someone who wants something that no one has.

You're right about the target audience for this piece. Can you imagine having so much money that buying this wouldn't stress you out (like the $30 frags are to most of us)? :-) Even getting this guy home I would have to pull over every 5 minutes just to make sure he was OK. :-) I really like the one behind it in the pic.

Does that price include the tank, sump, stand, lights, skimmer, pumps, and heaters?

It sounds like we went full circle on word definitions. What’s unique about it?

The way it looks. I've never seen something like that before. I first thought it was some kind of new coral. It looks clean and the colors are nice. Some people really like this "one of a kind" piece. No one else has one like this so it's unique

Lol, here's another picture. He has a tank filled with these things. First time seeing a scoly only tank. Looks nice!

looks more like a scoly here. BSA corals had a super yellow scoly that was listed for around 3-4K. Looked way nicer than this one and i still think the bsa one is overpriced....

Gotta love a 99% profit margin. That is ridiculous, for a mediocre piece in my mind.
It does look like a high end scoly to me but I'm not really into this LPS so I can't say much about it. But seriously, you don't think it looks cool? I do, the colors are brighter in person fyi. It has nice pastel colors.
