New High High End Scoly

Call me a karen, whatever bad name fits in the book.
Why do I feel you are trying to get a buyer for that scoly? Your post history is kind of odd to me.
Color me insane, I do run a reef.
This is what a vendor will say when trying to make you feel alright with forking over a down payment on a house.
It's about 3 to 4 inches. I would say that's a normal size for scolys, at least for the ones I've seen so far. You're right, it doesn't have those crazy strips color combination but that's what makes it look unique. It's for someone who wants something that no one has.
Really sounding like a seller.
The way it looks. I've never seen something like that before. I first thought it was some kind of new coral. It looks clean and the colors are nice. Some people really like this "one of a kind" piece. No one else has one like this so it's unique

I don't care, if you are.
But looks like no one bought the piece and now this
Lol, here's another picture. He has a tank filled with these things. First time seeing a scoly only tank. Looks nice!

looks more like a scoly here. BSA corals had a super yellow scoly that was listed for around 3-4K. Looked way nicer than this one and i still think the bsa one is overpriced....

I'll take your word for it, then this one is overpriced for sure.

Doesn't seem to surprise me once I saw it's out of California. Nothing from that state makes sense.
I don’t understand the hate California gets, it’s got its problems just like any state, but I’m curious where all these states are that are doing so great as to look down on California? This kind of pricing isn’t unique to California.

Totally not cool. You are being so negative and you don't know anything about me. In normal circumstances, I would respond the best I can but no thanks.

Let me be clear, if you aren't selling and he gets a buyer from r2r, you need a cut.

Maybe you haven't experienced it as of yet. With the exception of those few, there's a lot of wonder people here.

wow what the heck a cut? I have a good job and family. I don't need a cut from no one. If you have nothing constructive say then this is the last time I'm going to respond to you.

Report my post while you're at it. It's a scoly. Place the ugly with the pretty and fetch a nice penny.

The prices do seem like it's a little on the high side
Been going there for years. I like the family and many of the employees, and overall it's nice to see them stay in business.

But I find their high end stuff and approach to be tiresome. Almost anything noteworthy isn't marked and often requires a call to someone since none of the regular staff can give prices like that. But in general even their "nice" torches/scollys and fragged stuff seem higher then elsewhere.

I remember 15 years ago you could pick up some really nice large pieces for reasonable prices, but things have changed with the high end aquacultured stuff, and that's not really just them. But even back then they always had stuff in the back tanks that wasn't for sale or fragged anywhere, and I find myself just going online instead.

I find Seaside to be more approachable and easier to get random finds.

Dripping with envy, all of them.

None of the best places to live in America will escape the cost of living issues, anyone who pretends that that Cheapville USA is just as nice are typically fooling themselves.

I also have high end gsp for sale, $1500 a square woo wee

I think they only look down on socal...

I paid a visit to Tong's Tropical Fish in Fountain Valley, CA the other day and saw this beautiful scoly! At 6k, this one is going to one special collector! I thought it was some kind of new coral. I've never seen such a thing. If I remember right, I think it's called "Flat Line scoly" It's supposed to be the highest grade coral. I forget the first word, it's something _____ unique grade. Just wanted to share. Picture was taken with a Samsung Galaxy phone with no filter.

Seaside is great but I think Tong's has better stuff and more corals. He has 3 big displays in the back under all blue lighting. The last time I was there, he had a Godzilla shroom with some babies on it and a few WWC Bounce shrooms. He also had 2 frags of the Amazeball goni. It's not always like that, a lot of times he doesn't have anything I like. But the times when he does, it's nice to see those kinds of things at the stores. Yes, his prices is about 15% to 30% higher than others for high end aquaculture.
