NEW IceCap GYRE flow 2k pump review

But yea it isn’t a review. It’s maybe an observation that you need 2.4ghz to connect it. But really it’s more a statement that you bought it and can’t review it because you can’t operate your router properly.

I don’t have a problem with my router, just the equipment I ordered does not match the speed. Not sure what you are talking about but welcome to the conversation eabod.

Why would you need 5ghz? are you moving 1200mbps of data to your pump controller?

2.4ghz is cheaper to implement, has better compatibility, requires less power, has a better range and penetrates building walls better than 5ghz.

You are knocking something that you haven't used because you don't understand the technology.

EDIT: For the record 5ghz does not have improved "speed" over 2.4ghz, it allows for more bandwidth which is not helpful for this device.

yeah this is not a review and i am pretty sure one of the coralvalue videos about pump says it need 2.4ghz connection and not support 5ghz don't know which site you bought but yeah may be they need to add so try to explain this company and return it if not like it dont say it "sucks" without even set it up.anyways pretty much everyone said almost all routers support both.

Your missing the point, why do I need to try to reconfigure my WiFi for a brand new product that should be compatable with the average individual WiFi. I’ll admit I am not too savvy tech wise, but come on, I should not have to spend hours just to run a basic $200 pump.
It is compatible with the average individual wifi

Lol, I know there are a lot of commenters here, but do any of you actually own this new model. Because I have a buddy who has the same issues setting up the device. He also has to go back through device set up everytime he wants to modify a mode on the pump. Takes him 10-15 minutes to just work the app to change modes. It’s not just me having issues. Lots of people giving their two cents and none of you own this new device. I truly appreciate the JV team giving advice to a varsity reefer

I do own this device and changing modes is Just like seconds if you set up your presets/triggers when you first setup this device. Did you even watch CoralValue get started videos about device?

Nice some one else who owns one, yeah I watched the video a bunch. It was nice they made 2 minute videos for their products.

To be honest I had a friend come overacted I could not set it up He had issues setting it up with my router and then he gave up. I then sent it back to Amazon for a refund and went with a different brand.

I also have the device. If you follow the instructions, setup takes like 10 to 15 minutes. After that, you setup your presets and triggers to your liking. It's pretty awesome. The pump itself is pretty dang powerful and provides great flow. The app is also pretty easy to use to make changes on the fly.

2.4GHZ is slower, but has better range.

Wifi controller doesn't need the high speed, so, the signal strenght is more important. All routers can use 2.4 and 5Ghz at the same time.

Also as was stated above, all those chinese devices are very weak on security. It's better to connect them via local network without Internet.

Actually for this device, it's not slower since it can't utilize all the bandwidth of 2.4 let alone 5 GHz.

Works perfectly on my 5ghz/2.4ghz AC Dual Band router.

OP couldn't figure out his own tech problems so he blasted the product.

Seems about right.

For a couple hundred dollars I should not have to go through all the crap I did. Honestly I had a friend who is super savvy try as well with no luck. I get it easily connect for you. for me it was a nightmare of a product and not well rolled out. I’ve been in this hobby a long time and a lot of companies poorly rool products out, or promise the world and don’t deliver. Coral Vue products started out as junk and for the most part are still sub par products. Not just my view look it up

We are sorry for the trouble you experienced. There were connectivity issues for some users when the product launched, or shortly thereafter. I experienced them myself. But they were resolved with a firmware update. We changed the setup process so now you connect with Bluetooth before switching over to WiFi. It's been smooth sailing ever since. Well, mostly. Users that bought a unit with the old firmware may still have had issues until they updated the app. We've turned over inventory a couple of times, so I imagine most stores have only controllers with newer firmware. We update the app pretty frequently. One of the many reasons we built HYDROS is because CoralVue takes the heat if the app for a product we distribute is giving users issues. Now we control the app and when issues are reported, we can resolve them quickly. Our development team is all in-house and in the USA. There's new updates coming to the app that we'll be teasing soon. We are excited to show people how much HYDROS has developed!

I appreciate you addressing this thread. I am happy to hear it was not my fault, I bought the product right after the launch. Pretty crazy how many people blamed me on this thread, for not being able to use this pump. Lol, the funniest part we’re people shamming me on my review, who have never purchased the pump itself. Anyways, you have some die hard fans it looks like, and I am happy the pumps fully work now with the new updates.
