New in-wall 110 tank build

I am cycling a 110 gallon tank now and using Red Sea reef mature program and I have to say on day 10 I am very happy. I have one piece of seed rock that I had in my nano for a month that went from green to purple in those 10 days! If you want I will post so before and afters on day 22 the last day of the cycle.
I was planning on using the Red Sea reef mature as well in addition to some live sand. I would love to hear about your experience with it. I could use some of my live rock from my current tank but I'm having a bit of an issue with hair algae so I have decided to not use anything from my current tank in my new one.

I love this..... It looks great so far! I wish u did my in the wall tank thts still not finished yet lol
Ha! I've live in my house for 3 years and haven't finished some of the last details. My wife keeps reminding me[emoji15][emoji38]

So I spent a couple of hours on Saturday changing the location of the sink which required moving all the plumbing as well. I like the new location better as it allows better access to the area under the stairs. The fish room is already small enough so I have been trying to be careful about keeping everything as compact as possible.

So I have been messing around with the aquascaping over the past few days. I think I'm a bit of a perfectionist and so I have having a difficult time leaving it alone. Here are some pics-I would appreciate any suggestions or comments. It is a bit difficult to see since it doesn't have anything in the background.

Before I put the tank on the stand-I wanted to put some foam down. I happened to have some extra closed foam cast padding that is 1/2 inch thick. Since the sheets are about 18x12 I am planning on putting down some spray adhesive then the foam so it doesn't shift while I place the tank in the final position. Thoughts?

I like your rock work, that one piece on the right looks like a dog to me lol. Love the tall piece and all the open space that's going to be really cool. Do you have a delivery date?

Had to go back and see the dog, and there it was!

Sweet looking build. I was always told, foam under non rimmed tanks.

Cool looking build! Only comment I have on the aquascape is that tall tower in the middle. That's not going to let you put much coral there since it is a vertical face. If you want height there, a tall coral could go in that spot.

What a perfect location for a tank... I fully intend to find a house with a place to locate a tank like this.. [emoji23] Looking forward to seeing the build come along [emoji106]

Looking good. Great build to follow. I saw the dog too, right off the bat. :-)

That's funny. I hadn't noticed the dog shape until I looked back at the pics. I guess it looks different when you're standing up close arranging them [emoji38]. The tank should be here by the end of the month. Hopefully.

I am a little concerned about the tall piece in the middle. It still has about 6-8 inches to what will be the top of the water but still may be too tall still. I may lower it a little but we will see. I do enjoy montipora and other plating corals that could go on the face.

Thanks! The only regret is that I framed the door to the fish room too close to the back of the tank which limited the depth of my tank to 21".

If you like that rock I say keep it that way regardless of how close to the surface it is. You can mount corals all over the sides. Check out the thread I think it's called my Algea Farm, it's an amazing tank. Some big rocks close the surface not 6" but covered in corals. Some LPS mounted upside down on the bottom. Some of the corals are growing right to the surface of the water. You would just need to acclimate to the higher lighting up there and should be fine.
