New Jebao 3.4 wifi doser

and yes, it is working flawlessly. The tubing are smaller than the other models, but the motors are quieter. Had an issue with the soda ash line getting clogged, but I now run it below water level and its going great. I love how its easy to calibrate and program via the app, but there is still place for improvement.

oh and I ended up having it refunded by the seller when I explained what my issue was and sent him video of the problem; that is before I found out that wifi had to be named "WI-FI", so for the price, cant get better :P

Hi there Reefers,

I'll be posting updates on my 50 gallon SCA cube.
Currently setting up the new Jebao 3.4 wifi doser which works with the Jebao Aqua app on iPhone. Pretty impressed with the app interface so far with regards to calibration and programming.

Update? How’s the doser!

Coworker of mine is running 3 of these, one on main tank and two on frag tanks since they've been out and he swears by them. The only downside is they don't have a 5Ghz capable wifi chip so you have to connect to a 2.4Ghz wifi, which isnt anything crazy as it has zero impact on operation.

yesterday I realized that the red lights were on and the green lights were off. I think because of the loss of signal with internet. The settings remain or does it stop dosing?

I bought one and found it very easy to get connected to wifi, but I royally messed up with it because of the horrible instructions. It turns out, from the app, you need to have the doser's main control in the "on" position, but each individual channel in the "off" position when using it in program mode. I set up the programs and then simply turned on the channels. Well, after a few moments I noticed that my nano tank looked like whole milk, and yanked the plug. My DT's Alkalinity went to over 10dkh, and I managed to do a 90% water change on the Nano making water in about 5 minutes since I had some RODI already made. It has been a few days now, and everything is fine with my Alk back to around 7.5 with no burnt tips, so I dodged a bullet this time. The Jebao seems to work, but it is not very accurate, the instructions suck and the app is very poor, but the price is great and wifi works fine. Since I am dosing ESV, the accuracy is not that important because I am constantly testing and changing the amount I dose as I add corals and as they grow anyway. It has only been a few days, so I will update if my opinion changes.

I got one today and was not going to install it, but it's so small, and fits perfectly where I wanted to put it, so I went ahead with the install (was previously using a Jebao DP-3, worked fine with no issues, but this had wifi control and back when I ordered it, I thought it might be cool). So anyway, here's my experience:
  • App installed with no issue, I didn't have problems with the app once I understood the whole long press/short press thing
  • It connected to my WiFi with no issue at all, I have 2.4 and 5GHz that's using band steering to determine what gets connected to what band, I guess it's working ok! Haha
  • Calibration was easy, I just used 20ml as my calibration amount, seemed to go smoothly
  • Programming was a breeze, I didn't experience the issue with the ON and OFF positions for the unit vs. the head
    • My device is set to "ON" and my pump heads are set to the little clock icon indicating they're running the program and are currently showing "OFF" under current status. I assume it'll flip to "ON" when the pumps are running
  • I'm only running 2 heads right now. One for aminos and one for All-For-Reef
So for now, I think it was a good value, time will tell though, and I've set alerts on my Trident just in case it goes nuts.

But what happens when you turn off your wifi. Does it still dose what you saved ?

I don't turn off my wifi, so I don't know. I can't really see a time when I would ever turn it off, unless the power is out, at which point, the doser wouldn't work either. But I believe the program is saved to the device, it doesn't need to be connected to my phone to "know what to do"

Maybe I misunderstand the question?

Yeah it’s answered. Sometimes we get power outs . I was wondering if my wifi is off . Would it still dose what I put it to dose. Can you try it by any chance. Just unplug the WiFi . Or im just going to get the original doser.

Can you connect this Doser directly to your iPhone without home WiFi?
