New light!

I think you should return that light. It’s 14 watts and not great. Zoas stretching for light don’t look good.

Agreed. Best to get a light at least 30w for that tank that produces the correct spectrum for corals.

My first sw tank was a 20g tall and I ran a pair of these on it for nearly a year and was able to easily support zoas, shrooms toadstools and duncans with no problem. I had them on a digital timer. Then later I added an atinic LED strip to come on for a few hours for night time viewing.

wait can you explain what watts have to do with growing corals? just asking if its light intensity or something
It has to do with how much par it produces. It doesn’t matter if it looks bright your eyes. People often say oh but it’s so bright. Yes but that’s not how we measure :)

I see no link

not sure why Amazon links suck on this forum. You need a desk lamp or something to screw it into. It’s a par bulb.

Not read all replys but sure others have noticed and replied that this light for freahwater tanks and as can see its made for low- medium light plants and at 14 Watts is very low.
It's cheap which is good but only becomes good if fit for purpose.
Me personally when buy anything decide what I want the product to do then look for reviews of people wanting same/ similar and see their experiences with the reviews which you may struggle with on this product as most won't buy it for saltwater tanks as says freshwater only.
Maybe see what others have bought and had success with in the price range you wanting .
I've read some good threads where I think it's called nicrew hyper light has worked for some less light demanding soft corals and one of the cheaper lights.
Good luck and read the description on products you going buy in future and reviews a good place to start on deciding if a product any good for your needs

Also some youtubers like " inappropriate reefer" started a budget tank for I think like $ 156 of your American dollars so maybe watch his video and see what light he used and see his opinion of the light and if you wanting similar corals that he put in that tank and watch some other videos on lights to get better understanding of others experiences to see what's proven and what's not

Well what I will do is leave it fir the experts to advise you as im new to saltwater at just over 1 year and only used t5 bulbs and myself have been researching which led lights to use while still keeping my hold on as Mrs won't let me hang any lights from ceiling and some other " woman's rules lol"
But what I can say is 1st link of light I never seen or heard off and second light I think is referred to as a par 38 and is a cheaper bulb that often gets recommended for people who don't want to spend alot and get the job done on certain corals but as I say will leave to rest of the more experienced reefers who actually used a certain light or not.
Good luck
