Hey there, I went and picked up 4 large pieces of live rock from a private seller. I was told they had one anemone per rock. After a little research I found that it is really hard to separate an anemone from live rock. I originally only wanted the anemones. I ended up buying the 4 anemone and four live rock. Now the advertised names for them are not what I'm finding online. So now I don't know exactly what I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was told one was a tree anemone and an orange colony anemone. The other two are green mushroom and curly que. After getting into my tank, and letting it settle I kept finding more. So out of the four anemones I bought I have found a total of about a dozen different little colonies of the same anemones. Also in one of the pictures there are two little sprouts that look kind of like sunflowers, what are these? I gave $ 60 for the bundle? Was that a good deal?

I was told these were all anemones after research I couldn't find info on any of them accept the curly ques because thats the only one he gave me the right name to. Lol im trying to figure out what everything else is.

Looks like you have an assortment of corals. The third pic looks like some sort of zoanthid. You might have a little problem with that rock! I'm not certain but it looks like you might have aptisia on that rock. Post some more pics

Dude just get rid of that rock it's garbage. Kenya weed is not a desirable coral it grows everywhere. Aiptasia is bad as it multiplies fast and stings coral. Button polyps are bad as hey grow fast and are ugly. Who knows what other critters came in on that. Perhaps fireworms. Also. If you don't know what an anemone is. Please don't buy one as you'll kill it.
Like other anemones, they can sting your coral. Aiptasia are considered pests as they duplicate rapidly and can quickly take over your tank. You can kill them with a product called aiptasia-x, or some people use kalk mixture.
Let's not get too crazy here. Some people like button polyps. They are not pests. Same with Kenya tree. There is no evidence this rock contains fireworms, so no need to even mention them.

At the top left of the first pick I see aipstasia. The tree looks to be either a Kenya or a colt coral. Either can multiply quickly but I personally like both of them. If they start multiplying too quickly just pluck them out and give them away or trash them.
In the front of the second pick I see some type of paly or zoa, but without it being open there is no way to identify it.
In the third pic at the top far right there is a brown paly. They will always be ugly and will pop up in the middle of your prettiest zoas. I would take it out and throw it just as far as I possibly could. Then in a day or so I would go verify that it died. If it didn't it may still find its way back to your tank
In the fourth pic at about 11 oclock is another aipstasia. Not positive about the other two but aipstasia do get darker as they get bigger so they are probably aipstasia as well.
In the last pic at the bottom right I see what appears to be a couple of polyps are green star polyps. I say this because of the white centers.
Live rock sells for as cheap as $2 a pound when it has pests like aipstasia. The Kenya is worth about $5 and the green star polyp about fifty cents, maybe a buck. You could do your own math as to whether or not you overpaid. Perhaps the guy you bought from made several honest mistakes. If so he is not very knowledgeable so I wouldn't purchase from him again. Perhaps he deliberantly lied, in which case I would definitely not buy from him again.
You should definitely kill the aipstasia immediately. Use your own judgement about the palys, but if you keep them you will learn to hate them, I promise!

Thanks for the info guys. I see some of what y'all are pointing out, but your looking at the tank background. Lol in the fourth pic at 11 is the background and the two darker that look like it are curly que anemone. Those I were able to confirm through pictures. And the Brown polyp is also on the back ground. Lol Im thinking of taking it off and putting up a black back ground.

Lol yea I'll definitely be taking it off. Lol but I have gotten good info. Star polyps, zoas, Kenya tree these are the ones I didn't know what they were. As for the aiptasia. I cannot see anything on the rock (not including background) that looks like the pictures I have seen. So hopefully it was just the back ground y'all were noticing
