First post. Married, no kids. 40 years old. Many hobbies in life. Hobbies are what makes life worth living. I’m an R.N. in Louisiana and love the outdoors. My wife and I travel a lot in our camper and favor the Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone. To the point here. I want a saltwater aquarium. A beautiful aquarium with coral etc. I need a solid foundation. Is there a saltwater aquarium “bible” per se? I would like to really educate myself first before making any purchases. I love to research and learn new things. I just need a solid book or resource to get me started. I’m patient, and will not buy anything until I am fully educated on the subject.

Howdy, welcome to R2R. I've always been partial to The Reef Aquarium in 3 volumes by Sprung and Delbeek or The New Marine Aquarium by Paletta, and then R2R for current trends.

Welcome to R2R.
I agree BRSTV is a great source of info, but also here if you look and read through members build threads, this will give you some useful insight and don't be afraid to ask questions along the way

Welcome. Really there is a plethora of information to be had right here. A caveat. If you travel a lot and for extended periods of time, this hobby might not be the best fit. It takes time, dedication, and determination to really succeed in this hobby. Vacations can sometimes be brutal to a tank without a dedicated tank sitter well versed in the art of reefkeeping. Local club members can sometimes be a big help here. A reef tank is a commitment for sure and can suck up some of the vacation funds pretty quickly. Best of luck.

Welcome to R2R!!!

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! The articles shared by @Billldg in the thread above are a great place to start!

Welcome to R2R and hopefully the start of your journey into the salty world. Lots of knowledgeable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed.

Welcome!! Agree that BRSTv has good information to follow. If you want corals, I would determine what type of corals you really want as the care requirements can be vastly different from each other. The non-scientific LPS (softies, easier care) and SPS (hard corals, higher care requirements), are good categories to start researching.
As someone else said, if you travel a lot then look into automation and remote support (feeding, lights, dosing, etc.)
