Hi, got my new tank in December (Interpet Riverreef) and has been going well until recently. My Xenia has fully retracted a couple of days ago and the only different things I have done is cleaned all the filters at the back (just taken out and fully rinsed) and then added flux rx treatment to try and reduce the hair algae.

Did you rinse the filters in RODI water or tap water? Could have added some nasties from tap water if that's the case, but like Retro said it's most likely the Flux RX. Also, sometimes Xenias just melt. They have a reputation for being extremely resilient but there's also stories of them just melting for no apparent reason. I've had them melt down to almost nothing on me and then come back to life.

I rinsed it all in tap water. I have a phosphate reading of 2 so wanted to try and reduce this. After googling the problem I found somewhere saying to use the Rx which would also remove the green hair algae but I think that has nothing to do with phosphate reduction does it?

I have Live Phytoplankton that I spray near them every day. I have a cabbage and torch coral as well. The torch seemed to retract for a couple of days too but it coming out again. I’ve had it in about a month and the clowns have tried making that home.
I put a bubble tip in that only lasted a week too, that moved around every day then went on the sand and didn’t move for a day. After another day I tried to move it a little and seemed to just break up.

Welcome to the club.. Ive seen some post where Flux RX and Reefflux have had effects on corals, But ive not seen really any threads or post on adverse effects from just fluconazole in the capsule form, Ive used the regular fluconazole a few times with no effects on anything.
