New Reefing Family

Wow! I got out of the Hobby when I had my first child and got back in when they were 2 and 4. You are brave taking this on with a new baby coming. Congrats and good luck with the build.

Thanks for all the welcomes. And yeah, I’m not sure how smart we are starting up right before kid #3 shows up, but it’ll be an experience if nothing else, lol. And I can see how tough this hobby would be without the involvement of my wife. So much to buy and a ton of time to invest, but everyone, including the 2 and 4 year old are excited.

Hello, and welcome to R2R. Great Community here, with lots of knowledgeable folks! I have also relatively new around here, and also in the planning stages of my first reef tank. Looking forward to your progress. [emoji106]

Welcome to the forum! I think it is a great time to start a reef for you, but you will be the one carrying the heavy buckets for a while. Just think when the baby comes of holding or nursing it in front of the reef. And perhaps you will have time to enjoy it if you both take leave after the birth.

Thnaks everyone. And @NY_Caveman I didn’t even think about that. I’m sure my wife is going to love sitting in front of the tank and nursing the baby. Maybe the timing is actually good assuming I get it up and running before February.

Nice! I am a February birthday too. Just do not start any major projects around when she is due!
