He really enjoys excavating caverns (thank god all the rocks are on the glass) and building giant mounds of sand. He also eats mysis, so all the copepods I've seeded the tank with are just a bonus for him. He's pretty skittish though. I hope that changes.
Wow things look great!! That’s all from the old school bulbs in the biocube hood??I added a diamond goby to the tank. The kid named it Johnny Test. Johnny Test is a cartoon show where the main character seems to always make a mess of things.... so far Johnny seems to be living up to his name sake.
I've placed some of the frags I purchased this morning, but I think I may wait for the new 60 gallon to find permanent spots for all the zoas. Once this tank fills out some more, there's really not much room for anything to grow. Guess I'll be learning about fragging soon.
I also went away for the weekend a little bit back, and the auto shut off on the thermostat kicked in, and the house got super hot. The tank looked really bad when I got back... it was 88 degrees. I got it cooled down and nothing died. However, I believe the stress event started a spawning party. All the corals have new babies. Which is awesome. I also realized my magnesium was low, and it was dropping even with the weekly water changes. I've been slowly dosing that, so maybe that's what has caused all the new growth.
Also, I did buy an urchin from WWC, but it arrived dead. The crabs enjoyed the meal and Johnny Test used it for decoration.

For sure! When I added my kessil to my biocube it was the most amazing week of transformation I’d ever seen. Similar feeling to when I got my first pair of glasses, life changing. Lol. There is so many extra colors in your coral that you aren’t even seeing. It’s going to be awesome, I can’t wait. Haha.Yep. Although, I'm not sure the red montipora's colors are super great. Everything else likes the bulbs... or so it seems.
Nice! He was prob referring to metallic “grafts” that some corals get almost “infected” by it. That’s a commonly discussed topic. But who knows! My acans gain and lose colors depending on the spectrum as well as their diet. If I feed reef roids or chili often they will get more red, orange and washed out colors. If I feed mysis they will get lighter but more vivid colors and I get more neon greens, blues and yellows that come out on red base color acans. It’s pretty amazing actually.

Wow things are looking great!Just took some pics of the tank. Love watching it still. I tried some top down, but it’s hard with the biocube lid. And of course coco had to come check out what I was doing. I swear she always wants food. And will start “attacking” the feeder to let me know she’s tired of waiting. Reminds me of my dog begging for a treat.
+1 I just kill my blue channel before taking photos sometimes. I also use the free Photoshop app to color correct images too.

It’s the basic biocube lights. They’re either all on or all off. But a new light is in the works for my 60 gallon.
