New skimmer.....Help

Adjust the valve so it the skim goes about half way up to the middle of the neck. Then just let it run. See how it breaks in. In my experience Reef Octo's break in pretty quickly.

+1 or use any small container that the skimmer can sit on that will raise it a couple of inch higher until you can adjust it just enough to have the foam 1/4 or mid way in your collection cup, then remove the raiser.
