I went to Pacificeast Aquaculture today I got 9 new frags. Drove home and acclimated and forgot to dip. Should I take the frags out tomorrow and dip them or let them in for a week so I don't stress them even more? I've never forgotten to dip before but I got my first acros today so I guess I was just too excited : /

I've gotten stuff from them before. I live in Laurel and have never gotten anything falling off when I dipped. They are pretty good about keeping their corals pest free.

It was my first time there, stopped on the way back from ocean city and fell in love. Ill be getting most of my coral from them from now on. Can't beat $16 shipping. Thanks for the fast reply!

Not at all they have excellent prices. Where are you from? If your close to laurel I have alot of montis, zoas, and some sps fragged

Hagerstown. I love monti but haven't had much luck with it in the past. I had nudibranchs about 5 months ago and I've been afraid to try any more until today. I got a small purple frag. I'm sure we could meet up sometime. I just sold all of my frags about a month ago and don't have much to offer right now

Unless you have zero other SPS, I would just hope you didn't pick anything up. Dipping them at this point would be pointless.

If they are the only acros in your tank, then let them settle a few days and then dip them in Bayer every 5-7 days for eight weeks.

Any other sticks you add would need to be qt'ed to eliminate the chance of reinfecting the current corals you have.

I have a ponape birdsnest but I've never had any problem with pests other than the nudibranchs.... Which was horrible

Birdsnest are fine. If you don't have any other acros, pull them all and dip them.

Fwiw, you have to assume everyone has the worst pest possible. I'd dip any coral from anyone. Doesn't matter if its my best friend, my mom, or the president of the United States. I'm dipping them.

I usually do, especially since the nudibranchs. U said bayer is ok for SPS? I've used it on Lps a few times, usually use coral rx tho.

Don't be. I'd be more nervous how they will react in coral RX or any other purchased dip.

Bayer is gentle on acros and every other coral I've ever dipped.

I always use bayer on my Acros too. I have never had any problems. Some may take a little to color up if you have dipped to long or to much but they will pull through. That would be awsome to swap some stuff sometime. I have a jf grinch monti, rainbow monti, jf violet organge monti and tons of caps.

I would pull them out tomorrow and dip them. Things like AEFW might not have infected your whole tank yet and might still be one that individual frag. Everything should be dipped, especially from large retail sellers because they have such high turnover rates of corals and are constantly bring new stuff in that a few nasties are bound to slip through.

I agree with Genesis. Acros pests don't just "infect" the entire aquarium immediately. It takes sometimes weeks for AEFW a me red bugs to migrate to other corals. I would pull and dip once they acclimate a little.

Bayer is the best for SPS. I use 10ml per cup for 10 minutes. Just dipped about $1100 worth of stuff this week in that strength.
just curious I wanted to start getting the bayer and dip. can you tell me the exact name so I am sure
I get the right product.
thank you

In my person experience this is too strong. Is there any evidence that 16oz to 5mL is less effective. A local SPS guy recommended that concentration to me after I had losses at the 8oz to 10 mL concentration.

Ill be pulling them back out on Tuesday to dip. Maybe later today if I see that they are already doing well. Thanks for all of the replies, just don't want to lose any corals
