New tank tread

So i have been fighting dinos in the tank for the past week. I am on the expiramental roller coaster with twilliard on dosing metro to rid dinos. I dosed for 4 days straight with 125mg per 10 gallons. Ive had some of them die but some still living. After twilliards findings on them having a cyst live cycle it leads me to conclude that they were in cyst form when i started dosing so they did not have the full effect of the treatment. I did a water change yesterday and siphoned out all the dinos i could see. My rainbow bta has split but i beleive its from good water conditions sonce everything else is growing insanely fast. New heads on most zoas, acans, blastos, hammer, palys, and montis. Will have pics up later today. Im going to do about a 7 day dose of metro to be sure the dinos all die and dont come back. Im stepping up the dose to 156 mg per 10 gallons which is one more spoon of the metroplex. Trying to get a upper edge on it. Will see how it goes.

you got a lot of nice colors in there can't wait to see it grow out.
Thank you. It has grown out quite a bit in the 4 months that it has been up. Tons of new zoas, 5 new ying yang lord acan heads, montis are growing pretty fast...to give you an idea, its been set up about 4 months. I started off with 4 rastas. This is what i have now all in the 4 month time span.

Ok guys is been a while since i updated this thread. So for the past two months or so, i have been trying to deal with dinos. I sent tests to twilliard to research and found out they arent dinos at all im having a huge diatom phase where they are everywhere. Since my tank has been up for about 4 months now we have come to the conclusion that the samd has silcates in it and the frag plugs that are ceramic have silicates as well. So now im in the process of getting everything on plastic plugs. We determined that since i just replaced my ro membrane with a 99% rejection rate spectrapure membrane and a .5 micron sediment filter that im not introducing silcates into my system. That has yet to be concluded about though since i havent done any tests on it. Ive been doing multiple water changes and my gha problem i had is fading fast. I added a media reactor with phosban in it to take the phosphates out. Everything is looking good. Ive had multiple zoas growing like crazy off the plug and onto the frag rack so it was a bit of a pain in the rear getting them out to frag them. I took a tonga branch live rock and fragged multiple zoas and glued them to the rock in order to create a zoa garden on a branch looking rock. I think it will look cool. It has radioactive dragon eyes, eagle eyes, bam bams, rastas and dark mauls on it but with plenty of space for them to grow out.

My star decided to come out to play today. Ive had him for over a year. He survived the tank crash and is enjoying his new home!

Hey the tank look really good, cool look star

So i started a tonga branch rock for a zoa garden. I think it will be awesome....a branch full of zoas...lol. mutiple different zoas on it. Bam bams, rastas, radioactive dragon eyes, dark mauls, eagle eyes

Parameters are 9.3 alk
460 calcium
And 1440 mag
Did a 5 gallon water change and added more metro to combat the diatoms. It has proven to keep them at bay as far as mass production.

Update, everything is looking great. A lot of new growth in birds nests. My utter chaos are doing great. More open than ever have been. Nitrates down to about 5 to 10. Phosphates I think are very low too. No more Gha growth. I do have diatoms I believe. A few dead snails but that could have been from to many factors to go through the them all.

Just about out of red Sea alk buffer in the liquid form. I'm switching to powder for more economical. Also I'll be putting up a new tank thread within the next 6 months for the 125 gallon up be building stove I am now in position of a house and remodeling it.
