I thought I would give an update on what's going on with my tank since I have made some purchases for it this past week and got my tank moved into its final resting spot.
I moved my tank onto my new glasscages stand and I'm very happy with how it looks and sits. The tank's total height now is 5'3" when I ordered the stand I asked for it to be 36 inches tall. Well it came out a bit taller, but to my liking.
I have my lights hung over it currently, but I plan to put a hood on the tank soon.
I purchased a Vertex Omega 150 protein skimmer immediately after it was marked down to 250 dollars for sale.
I will have my new sump in early next week
My new mag drive 18 pump came in and it is pretty. I can't wait to run my tank with that pump. I'm no longer going to have a pump for each function in my tank. I now will be using a biopellet reactor on a mag drive 5 and aside from that my return and carbon reactor will be run off the mag drive 18. My refugium will also receive approximately 150gph from the mag drive 18.
I'm going to need to buy chaeto for my refugium soon. I'm going to use sand as a substrate in it.
I have a mild concern that my tank overflow is leaking that I need to investigate better. Depending on if it's a major leak or not will determine if I do anything about it right now, but there is no visible sign that it's anything more than just some water I splashed into the overflow while filling it.
I found 2 more zoanthid colonies that are alive while I was putting my rock back into my tank. made me pretty happy to know that more than I thought survived on coral. I still love a major colony of acropora, but I can grow again.
And that's the updates. I'd be happy to answer questions about what I'm doing.
