Dom do u thank that a current usa does better than the Chinese box lights

I have a pair of Current USA LOOP running on my 33 long. They work very well and I get good results.

When selecting a light, it is important that you position the light above the tank so that the spread of light covers the entire footprint of the tank. But it isn't enough to just have light, it has to be ENOUGH light.

Personally, I look for 8000-10000 lumen at the furthest point from the light. I get a reading of 7800 lumen at the bottom of my tank with my Current USA LOOP lights... a bit shy of my 8000 goal, but still effective.

So you need to know the L x W x H of the tank. From there, you need to look at the light specs to see that it will provide the light necessary to support what you put in the tank.

Dom thank u again it looks like u are my go to man on a reef u have helped me on the light question

Dom was just going to say that I can't get my ammonia to go past .50 is that right our I need more

Ghost feeding shrimp or flake food works but the ammonia level it creates is uncontrolled so keep the amount small to prevent ammonia rising too high.

I sent it again

Monitor your ammonia... it isn't about how high it goes, but that it returns to zero. That's when you can consider your tank cycled. Nitrites should also be zero.
