New to MTRC

I have a 50g breeder under my 4x2x2 120 but often wish I would have a 40g breeder under there.... That extra couple of inches tall that the 50 is vs the 40 makes things a little more difficult.

Good point. Next build I'm going longer, not taller though.... I already have to get on a stool if I need to reach the sand bed!!! Wet armpits are not cool!

Dishan has to get the 6' ladder out and sink to the shoulder to get something off the sand. (Sometimes I just knock stuff over to make her do it, lol!)

what is funny is, if you actually do the math, the standard 40 breeder is 47 gallons.

Inside or outside? There was a guy not long ago opining that his 80g tank was only 76g and he felt robbed.

Tank's a 125 gallon with dual overflows.

Since the tank came up in conversation what are your opinions on the size of the sump I should use. I had plans to use a 40 breeder. What do you guys think?

Welcome to R2R and MTRC!

I think you have a perfect setup there with the 125g and sump. Looking forward to your build pictures.

I'm looking forward to documenting the whole thing. This is my first tank build so it's sure to be a trip both good and some bad I'm sure. Wouldn't be an aquarium without some unforeseen mishaps.

I have a 120 4x2x2 and I used a 40 breeder. I custom built my stand and canopy and built the stand really tall to match the bar height in my home. Kind of a pain sometimes since its that tall but it looks real nice.
