Hey guys! This is the first forum iv joined for reefing . I bought a guys used equipment about 6 months ago and its just been sitting around as there was lots of changes going on in life I even had it up for sale at one point, but I really think fate wamted me to keep it cuz me and my girlfriend just recently moved and iv decided to go ahead and setup the tank once we both have jobs! For equipment Iv got a JBJ 45 rimless all in one and the stand that is for it and the pumps it comes with and a heater, also have an innovative marine media reactor, innovative marine protein skimmer, 4 bulb T5 ficture, and 2 tunze powerheads! I know ill need a ATO and I want to setup a refug in the back im just not sure how with such limited space amd not sure if there is any other equipment that I should definitely get before I start up, im gonna want a controller but dont think its a necesity while funds are tight, iv been watching lots of videos and reading my favourite is CJ's aquariums its my favourite!

Have fun! Be prepared to spend money O.o but at least you have the light fixture and the skimmer already. To me those are some of the bigger purchases.

Welcome to R2R make sure to start a build thread with pictures and ask many questions.
Good luck with the tank.

Thanks man! Thats great iv been trying to find vids and info on how to do a refuge in these tanks but all I can ever find is full size tanks underneath other tanks

Thanks for the love guys! I had a feeling this forum would be awesome like this [emoji16] iv asked so many questions to people and feel like they get annoyed but this feels like a safe place where Ill be able to grow and learn and have positive criticism as im building im super excited! And definitely will be posting as soon as I get the tank setup probably before I even get water in it [emoji12] km thinking of filling it with fresh and letting it run like a week anyway to clean most of the old gunk off of it and to test all of the equipment and the tank! Also gonna need to find a good thread on quarantine tanks iv read tou need barely anything for them but vids iv watched people put lots so im kinda unsure about that, its always really nice to hear and see from people who have has success cuz then you know what they do is actually working!

Really?!! That would be amazing man!! Iv been thinking of just running it a bit with just fish but that would be so cool!! Is it harder to take care of corals right of the bat? Also I live in Canada [emoji12]

This is my QT. I just ordered a bigger filter to replace this one and an ammonia alert wheel. Since I added a second clown im nervous about the bioload. But the single clown has been in here for like 3 weeks and is doing great. This photo doesn't have a heater in it but it has one now.
