New to saltwater aquariums

hello everyone! This is my first time setting up a saltwater tank. I've been cycling this tank for about a week and have noticed what I think is red algae growing. I was hoping to get some advice on what to do about it and if it is red algae.

What are your water parameters?
Only had this tank for a week? What kinda system you have running? Little early to have algae I think...but ill let others chime in on that.

Welcome to R2R! Definitely a case the cycling uglies. I would leave your lights off and let your bacteria propagate. Parameters are important ammonia>nitrite>nitrate good to know those and where you are in the cycle. Soon you'll be able to get a clean up crew just make sure you're through the ammonia spike
