Hi, my name is Ted and I have been keeping reef aquariums for about 25 years. I keep several aquariums but my main tank is a reboot of a tank that completely crashed from a bacterial bloom last summer while I was out of town. Lost corals and fish that I had for years. Anyway the tank is 60x18x20 with a 10 gallon refrugia with macros and a mangrove.(about 4 years old, only thing that survived the crash). Lighting on the main tank is 2 kessil 360w's and 2 110 vhos actinics. The refrug is lit with 23watt spiral and a nano led from reefbreeders. Filtration is avast skimmer, reactor running carbon and geo, filter sock, and a homemade cheato reactor. I am running an avast calcium reactor. Circulation in the tank is 2 rw 15's. All is controlled by an Apex controller. I used Brs reef saver and shelf rock to build the structure. Not much livestock yet, astreas, hermits, couple of conchs, a BTA, star polyps,( I like to cover plumbing with them),ora green leather , and several monitors crags. First fish,a firefish is still recovering in quarantine from a hyposalinity treatment for ich.

This is my worst nightmare as we travel a lot. Please share your thoughts on what you are planning to do differently this time to prevent it from happening again
