Nicest Paly Ever!!!!

On first glance of these I found these to be rather....ugly! But like an ugly duckling, they are curiously odd! Maybe it's just because they are different, this makes them interesting?

I wouldn't call them "copps blue palys" because this is not the striking feature of them. I think the coloration of the skirt/tentacles it what makes it distinctive. But I honestly can't think of a good name to help you out ;)

Very cool paly though!

Anybody have a pic of them in my tank?

I saw a whole bunch of these at Atlantis in Richmond over the weekend. My guess is that would be the 'arvin' person as the source.

They are quite unique but I didn't get any since I didn't think much of it, could've been the lighting at the tank. Maybe when I spend more time looking at it, it'll start to grow on me. I'm sure I'll regret not picking some up when the price goes up to 1000/polyp :) Time to go back out there though.

I'd be interested to see a pic of these. I am not being skeptical, I just don't think they are the same. :)

I didn't take any photos but when I saw them I immediately checked your photos when I got home. They are definitely very similar in appearance.

Lol, the "arvin" is Marvin or "Marvinsreef" on the board here and he got a two polyp frag in a trade we did... I've never been to see Marvin down there at Atlantis yet but would like to when time allows... I'd like to see his, as they may be the same, but they're not from the same source.

The $1000 a polyp will not come from me or any of the three people that have this now... I've been in the hobby and sold and traded frags for years and I've never sold any frag over $100 (except large sunset monti frags) despite what demand would allow, and I know Rik and Chris well and they'll keep these at hobbyist prices with most going to trades I'm sure... I've had these since last year and have sold a grand total of zero frags and done only trades to these guys...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but nobody who's been in the hobby long could look at these and tell me they're not unique... :)

I've only kept them under 20ks... my large display has 10ks with actinics but it also has large angels including a trio of regals so no zoa or paly is going in there... As my bulbs have gotten older I've noticed the blue turn to more of a white...

There goes the arvin guess LOL. I'm not sure if Atlantis realized that they have these since they're only a few polyps that are priced really low. I may have to head down there again soon though. That store is awesome.

That 1k a polyp was a joke btw after reading that thread on here :) I'm sure Rik and Chris will price these very fair. I've gotten frags from them before.

These are definitely very unique creatures though. I wouldn't have noticed them if I didn't see the pics on here.

I saw them in Chris' tank this weekend. They are awesome!!! I haven't been down to Atlantis either. I really want to go. I've heard it's an awesome store.

You know, the more I look at this paly the more I think it is the venus fly trap paly that is a waitlist only item at Ultimatefrags:
http://www.ultimatefrags.com/coralinfo.php?ID=192#coral
What do you guys think?

I had to go back and forth many times because they are so similar except the colors and thought maybe a color morph but I am going to have to say no… Reason the brown ring around the mouth of the flytrap…

And by the way guys those are definantly unique. very cool...
