One week update after adding the Gem tang. These tangs are too peaceful. I think I need an Acanthurus Lineatus to spice things up a bit.

Looks great! Any issues with the yellow and purple with the gem?

We are looking to add a gem but don't want to disrupt the vibe as its only a 6ft 220...

No issues with the zebrasoma or any of the tang yet. I still just can’t leave the seaweed in the tang. The Sohal goes nuts.
I would highly suggest using an acclimation box on the new fish for a couple days. Make sure it eats and that the existing fish get to check it out.
Tangs are troublesome when adding new ones. But with proper diet and introduction to the existing fish, they should be okay given that they have enough space to swim.

Right now, these are the thing that makes the tank look decent. The SPS frags will need at least another 6 months for them to be recognizable.

OR... Keep these till you want angelfish and then sell them. The past two years LPS seem to worth a foolish amount of money. It never used to be like that.

Yup. The stupid amount of money I paid for the 3 colored acanthophyllias. They’re 4 digits each. Dumb!!!
And something you can’t frag if it’s in trouble. Sometime I questioned my decision. lol.

Starting to get coralines. This is what we strive for in a newly set up tank with dry rocks.

I’m also starting to regret getting armor seams....
It should be called coraline seams. Whoever came up with this **** should be shot.
The armor seam is a thin piece of glass that covers the silicone so that you can’t damage the seam when you clean the glass. However, it’s a thin piece of glass on top of the glass pane in the corner. You can’t get the magnet cleaner to run over it. Manually scraping it is a pain. With the 4” eurobrace, good luck.

G5 with diffusers. Much easier on the eyes.

I purchased the G5 for my build. I contemplated the diffusers, but held off for now. I am liking the way they work on your tank. Thanks for posting.

CWC has been running for over a month. Works great. I’m going to go ahead and put safeguards around it for permanent operation. Salinity is being monitored by conductivity. Over the past month with CWC, it barely moves.
For reference. 49.0 mS/cm is 1.0241sg. 50.5mS/cm is 1.0249sg.

Got a box of goodies from GHL for safeguarding the tank. Basically, they are level sensors to shut off stuff to prevent flooding and pumps running dry. Ie. Shut off skimmer when cup is full. Shut off CWC pump when new saltwater bucket is empty. Shut off return pump if display tank is overflow. Etc. etc.

The frag tank has been plumbed into the system for growing more macro algae.
Tank needed to be on a platform so that I can drain into the sump.

Metric to US standard plumbing conversion done with conversion unions.

Drain into the sump fuge which goes into the return chamber.

Fed by the same pump feeding the UV. The pump was throttled down to run the UV to the correct flow level. So why not use the same pump and tee it off.

Macros tank is filled. Waiting for the sand milkshake to settle then run it with the main system. I basically did a 60G waterchange today.

I always do. However, I’m keeping it on to not have light penetrate. I hate cleaning coralines.

Minimalistic aquascape.

Amazon is amazing. Ordered this at 10pm last night. Should be here today. I’ll transfer all the macros in the sump fuge to the tank after I hang the lights. The sump fuge will be jammed with rocks for more bio-filtration.

The macros in the sump fuge is going strong despite the low PO4 reading. I have 6 varaieties of macros.
