Lights look great! I have the same issue with the blue glow in my apartment. It’s funny watching people walk by trying to figure out what the alien type blue glow is haha.
What’s next on the list of things to do?
It’s funny because I see the same blue glow in another apartment, and the person that installed our cable verified that the other renter has a reef tank as well. I never see them outside, but I will introduce myself if/when I do.
We are taking our dog to the park for a little while today, and then I’m going to accompany my wife on a few errands and get some date-time in. I’ll be emptying my sump when I get home and putting it into the stand. I’d like to place the equipment into the stand and sump that require plumbing so that I can come up with a plan.
I’m nervous because I have never plumbed anything, and I’m not even sure where to start or what I will need. I did buy a PVC cutter, so that’s one thing down. I also know that I’ll need some unions to make maintenance easier. I’ll be checking out the plumbing kit that came with the Waterbox to see what they have used. I’ll try to replicate the diameters and then ask questions here about what else I may need.
I plan on adding a manifold to the return since I have a UV sterilizer and plan on the employment of an algae reactor in the future, if needed. I want to place an order for the Neptune Systems FMK (Flow Monitoring Kit) next month so that I can precisely dial in the flow with gate valves to those units.
After I get the plumbing connected, I will be filling the display up, with about thirty gallons each day so that I can leak test it and ensure good seals before filing it completely. I’d also like to start mounting my hardware inside of the adjacent TV stand and routing cords through cord hiders along the baseboards like I did with the TV equipment.
I think I have some work to do.
