The first three are all forms of carbon dosing. I think that got lost somewhere in this all. That is why, it is "somewhat" (and I truly mean this loosly) redundant at this point for your situation to pick up another form until you have one "completely" on line. Your issue right now is the bacterial population capacity that results from the increase of carbon sources in your system "from dosing". This increase in population and efficiency, takes time.. That's just my thought(more on my own little selfish experiment below).
There are various forms of carbon dosing, but vodka and pellets are, from everything I have read, studied and spoken with others about the two most popular.
My potential experiment :The thing about all carbon dosing types that intrigues me is not just low nutrients, but enhanced coral color and if anything like pellets, coral mass. I am seriously giving thought to supplement dosing with vodka. I just am not sure as of yet whether it's worth it. I'm already low on nitrate at 1ppm and phosphate at 0.08. My purpose in my 135 gallon (nwv) would be to get the levels even lower than they already are, thus increasing color and growth. I just am not sure at these levels whether it's worth it, and if so, the dosage. Because I am at the moment on a new schedule and building my bacteria with a new strain(s), I am debating whether I should do this now, but the other side of me is like "dude, this is the perfect time if your going to do it". But I don't want to overload and crash the system or coral population I have . It's a very, very slippery slope.
Sorry to get sidetracked, but I figured it may be beneficial in this thread since the OP is also running pellets, though they have yet to kick in..
