Probably, but if your bacteria can handle the spike it may show up as nitrate.

I've never dosed bacteria after a water change. It's mostly on your rocks and substrate, not the water column.@oscargrumete61 u are completely correct the fact that I haven’t been dosing bacteria in every water change and feeding every other day I have been depleting my good bacteria and raising my nitrates with this being the case I am going to get some tomarrow happy thnxgiving everyone and happy reefing

@Zack Klabunde beautiful nems btw but my question is how do you get away with it are you running a skimmer and all the bells and whistles please elaborate on how and why I’m in my first year of reefing and would really enjoy picking your brain
that’s amazingl am running a very simple tank. It’s a 54 corner with a 10g sump. l have a protein skimmer in chamber one(Bubble Magus Nac 3.5), a carbon filter pad in between the baffles before it runs into a refugium. Then from their it goes into the return pump and back to the tank. What l have found is no matter what you Levels are, make sure they are all in balance. l have not done a WC in a little over 9 months now and nobody is complaining. As long as you have stability l think you can be successful.
