HI I'm sure this has been asked a million times is 30 nitrates OK for fowlr tank I have the red sea kit and have trouble reading the colour chart I think this about what it is saying

Cool thanks just trying to get help with my red sea test on another thread I'm getting confused between low range and I hi ramge

Op has problems matching colors on the Red Sea kit. I actually found the salifert easier to use, but way harder to color match, and deciding if I need to view it through the side, or top down.

Yes I really have trouble from top the side not on the card all looks so different wish there was an easier test my old nutrafin test for my fresh water seemed a bit easier for some reason not sure if it was the test tube and colours but I never test them they been running years and I never have any problems

Seriously though, you might want to look into the pro kit from Red Sea.

You use 2 vials, with a wheel. You put a clear water sample in one side, and your test in the other. Then rotate the wheel till the clear sample matches your test sample.

It's just a little easier to read as your color matching 2 vials, and not one vial against a card.

Here is the test what do you guys think is the result

Witht he Red Sea kit, you always compare top down.

Ok so would that worry you right now or just carry on with weekly water changes its 100g us gallons I change 50 ltrs a week at the moment

Typically around 50$, but you can find them at various dealer fro around 27$.

I see your not in the US, so I can't comment on price in the UK.

Feed less, vacuum the sandbed, blow off rockwork, change filter socks more often(if you have them), and Wc's are the most effective way of lowering them.

FWIW, softies like dirtier(high nitrates) water. Maybe not quite as high as you have them, but still higher then we like to keep LPS and SPS.
