No Results Red Sea No Pox

Nitrates in my tank went from 2 to undetectable in days (I was initially at 16 when I started NoPox).

I'm currently dosing 5 mL per day on a 300 gallon tank. And I feed a bit heavier with the Reef Chili & Reef Roids. Nitrates are currently holding at 0.25 (I check every 4 days).

In summary, if you think you went overboard:
  • reduce the daily dosage in accordance with Red Sea's instructions
  • feed heavier, to make sure there is enough nutrition in the tank
  • check NO3 every 3 to 4 days and adjust accordingly.
On a related but separate topic, anyone using the Red Sea Reef Energy products? How do you like them? I bought some, but I'm waiting until I've exhausted my other coral food before I switch over.
I just started using Red Seas reef energy A & B 4 days ago. I have been dosing 20ml of each at the same time in my 240 gallon. So far I have not noticed any change.

Also I am going to try Red Seas reef foundation A B C. I have been dosing alkalinity and calcium. Would I have to stop or just keep an eye on it.

It took about two weeks for me to see any noticeable change.

As far as the polyp extension it was like I was "training" my corals that 10 minutes after RE was introduced that food would enter the tank.

The colors started to get bolder around the 3-4 week time frame.

Reef Foundations is doing the same as dosing CA, Alk, and Mg. I would stop whatever you are currently dosing and only use the RF when you are ready to make that switch.

It is in the instructions not to dose all 3 at the same time if you are dosing manually. It wants the Mg first, wait 10, then Alk, wait 10, then CA.

Or you can add them to 3 different parts of your tank, I would recommend Alk in your sump (preferably a middle chamber), CA in the DT, and Mg in an overflow.

With those numbers, once a week. And yes, you'll see nitrates plunge, then the phosphate leaching out of the rock. How much time does it take? I'm sure someone could be able to make an algorithm to guess based on poundage, but it's somewhat of a guessing game depending on how much was in the rock to begin with.
Get some lanthanum chloride or some calcium nitrate to make it easier. Once you get phosphates down, then you'll need to pay attention to the foods you feed and the nitrate vs phosphate amounts. As you progress you'll get the hang of it. Just be sure to ease off the dosage when nitrates go down. If you test and have zero nitrates, reduce dosage by half, then test no3/po4 every other day. It'll make more sense once you get there. ;)
Been using no pox for about 5 monthes know. I checked it the other day and it was up to .29. The only change I did was changed the location I was dosing and I moved a lot of live rock. To get my phosphates back down to .02 do I need to start my dosing all over again. Start dosing 30 mg from were I first started.
