My trident was shut down for about a month. When trying to start it back up, I am getting a "no sample water" error. I have primed it through Fusion, removed the black sample line and verified it is clear, and checked behind the reagent drawer to make sure everything is connected. Anybody have any ideas? Worked fine prior to being shut down for a while.

Is the vial filling with water while testing or priming? If you remove the front cover above the drawer you can watch it.

Agree, confirm the vial is filling during priming by taking off the front top "window" and watch it fill during priming. also make sure there are no kinks in the hose, mine had the SLIGHTEST little kink in it when I was having sample water error and straightening it out fixed the issue. Oh and I think also restarting the Trident helped me at one point, unplug it from the connection bar (power AND link), not a reboot through the apex interface.

I didn't know you could even watch there...I will check that out, thanks.

I did totally remove the hose and blew water through it so there was no kinks or clogs...unless it is clogged in the end that is connected to the trident. I did restart several times through Fusion but not by unplugging it. I will try that as well. Thanks.

If it is filling you will need to contact support unfortunately. Here is my thread on the same issue. My unit had to get replaced and it took 4 weeks.

I am hoping that isn't the case, since it was working fine up until I shut it down. That is my biggest complaint with Neptune.....having them repair anything is a hassle (my DDR went in for repairs multiple times until I gave up and ripped all the electronics out of them). At this point though, being down for 4 weeks won't make much of a difference since I can't find replacement reagents anywhere.

Ok....so it is not filling.....and I have what looks like a white piece sitting on the bottom that broke off from somewhere? I assume this isn't supposed to be there? I also see what looks like a clear rod in the end of the tube.

That is the magnetic stirrer that is suppose to be there. Next step is to pull out the reagent drawer and make sure the dosing pump is spinning which priming. Check all connects also. Then disconnect the black sample line from inside and blow air through it to make sure it is clear.

The pump is spinning but nothing appears to be priming at the moment. Is that clear rod supposed to be inside the tube in the pic that I attached? What is its' purpose if so? Once this finishes priming I will check connections and check the black sample line inside the trident. I already checked the line outside going into the sump and that one was fine. Thanks for your help.

Ok connections are good. This is going to sound like a dumb question, but how do you disconnect any of the lines inside the Trident without completely taking it apart? I can barely get one hand in there.

I do not see anything wrong in the picture, so everything is correct there. Yes it is very difficult to get the line off inside but it can be done. I used a can of canned air to blow it out once I got the line off inside. I had to put two straws together in order for it to reach all the way into the back. It can be done but it is difficult. These are all the steps tech support is gonna walk you through.

Thanks a lot for your help. I actually ended up taking it apart. The issue was there was dried salt chunks in the small line coming from the black manifold to the supply line. Once I pulled that off (not easy to get back on lol) and blew it out, everything started working.

@Waters - if you haven't done so please shoot Neptune a email / ticket and explain what you did. Just another data point and reference for them in case it hasn't been seen. If you have, thanks.

For what it is worth I had a line pop off the manifold and caused a little flood in the tray after one test. What happened in my case is that I have a Brightwell block, the ones that are similar to the Marine pure - anyway it is starting to fall apart and it is in a high flow area in my sump. The particles clogged my sample line and one test the pressure pop'd off one of the lines. I had issues as you getting a hand in there but ended up using a pair of tweezers and was able to get it back on. Support walked me through that one and it was an easy fix.

Also glad I was able to see the insides. My guess is this is an area we will be inspecting during our 18 - 24 month maintenance window. That is why I was suggesting sending a note. May be something we look for down the road.

Glad it is working.

Actually I did just that.........they were the ones that instructed me to take it apart and flush the internal line out (basically the same thing that @Badilac was suggesting). Sounds like it was my fault though for not using the proper shut down procedure (which flushes the lines out). That month of inactivity was enough for the water to dry out in the lines, leaving the salt. I agree......now that I know more about how this thing works, I will be inspecting it quite a bit.

Thank you much. I was also wondering about storage myself so this is great information.

Thank you again!

Hey folks, I am having the same exact issue, with two separate Tridents. Both give me the No Water Sample Error message. I'm thinking it may be due to salt dried in the sample line inside the Trident. How do you check for this? Is there a way to remove the case to easily access the pumps and the manifold?

I also have a case open with Neptune, but thus far, all they have done is asked for a bunch of pictures.

I'm grateful for any advice!

I am having the exact same problem. Waiting for Neptune. Will jump in a try clearing the supply line. I was concerned that there was no filter of any type.
