No3 problem

did you mean 40pounds of rock? Are you using a sand bed how deep? Ill agree with what was stated above your nutrient export is flawed somewhere. Does the skimmer work well thick black junk or mostly clear? Also just one other question are the high nitrates causing problems in the tank? I know you said the brown algae was mostly gone, but IMO if it doesnt seem to be causing any real issues let it ride.
I don't have enough space in my sump for 40 pound :)
I use braghtwell koralagoon substrat
2 and a half inches deep
A little bit of Both black things and brownish liquid
No it's not causing me any problem my anemone looked bleach
I actually brought them like this
Just want to have a reef tank add corals enjoy the view I'm not asking too much :(:(

You don't have any live rock in your tank? What's in your display? Maybe a few pictures would be nice...

What is the odds
I have two test kit
and they are both wrong !!!!!
Today result from two different pet store
both of them use sera test kit

How old is this tank? The rock and sand look brand new. What do you have in your sump in my experience and live rock, rubble or bio balls put in the sump just restrict flow and trap debris that then decomposes creating a nitrate factory. I also constantly see this problem in nano tanks when people fill them with bio media, once they are removed the tank runs normally again. The only bio media needed in the tank is the 1lb/gal in the display that is all you need for processing ammonia into nitrates
