I don't actually even have the tank yet, but have been thinking of doing this for years. I would always come up with reasons for not pulling the trigger, but now that I am a couple of years from retirement, it's time to make it a reality. I have just recently purchased some Marco Base and Shelf Rock and I am starting to make a Negative Space Aquascape. Once I am far enough along with that, then I will purchase my RODI. Soon after that I will purchase my tank (Waterbox Frag 105.4 w/XR15 Blue Lights) and the pump. I plan on running the system for a while before I get my Skimmer, HOB Refugium, waver makers, etc. Doing it right is more important for me than doing it quickly. Plus I have to show the wife I can start something and see it through to the finish without getting frustrated and saying "Screw it, good enough". Well that's me, now back to being a Lurker.
Great intro! I love how logically you are approaching this whole process. Sounds like you will have a long, successful run into the hobby! Welcome to the reef!!

Hello and welcome to the channel.

Welcome! Once you've got your aquascape figured out be sure to take LOTS of pictures because its hard to pick up and move to get just right if you're not mortaring everything together.

Also once you've got it down, consider buying some cheap totes and throwing the rock in some saltwater while you figure the rest of your decisions out. You can get the cycle going and then you have mature rock on day 1 and no waiting!
