Noopsyche K7 mini 60w wifi

I followed the instructions that came with them. You have to get them on AP instead of LAN. Then you have to switch network. Then you add k7mini##### go back to the app and pick your sps,lps,s/l and click save. Then go back to switch network. Pick the other k7mini##### and do the same thing. Make sure when you are done you go back to your home wifi for normal usage of web and etc
it's a pain. will try that tomorrow. gave up today. both are running on ap mode currently.

I got a k7 mini recently and it was a huge pain trying to set it up with wifi. I spent so many hours. I still couldn’t do it even with my tech experience. I attempted to contact noopsyche on here and they were making sure I did everything they told me to and I told them I did everything they asked. I also told them that I even watched their wifi set up video on their website with no luck. Then, I asked them if my light could have a defective wifi chip or something. Now, they stopped responding to me for 2 weeks so far… I’m disappointed with their customer service and their app as well since it is not in English. I just decided to stay on AP mode, set the schedule, and leave it. Wish they will make the whole process easier in the future. :confused-face:

They have been out on holiday related activities for the last few weeks. And are constantly changing out reps on r2r that respond to customers try reaching out again and hopefully that will help. Also do you have a mesh internet system this is 90% of the issues that happen due to the light only connecting through a 2.4ghz signal cant connect through a mesh network unless you isolate the 2.4ghz on your router.

So after talking with my rep. He has stated the minis do not have a master slave function like there big brother the 140w light. But can be added and synced through mirror settings and times to match each other. You were right to connect it the way you did and once you do one light unfortunately you will have to switch back to the other and set up the same settings. I will see what they can do to possibly upgrade this for future lights with the mini.

If you have multiple lights you can set one and save these settings as a qr, then the others you just read your on qr

The Wi-Fi on these really sucks, if I'm close to the light it doesn't connect, I need to be at least 4 meters away to use app connection, already gave up trying to use lan mode

Okay, thanks! I do have a mesh internet, but I also have a regular router with 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi already separated. I literally tried anything that I could think of and I also contacted you for some tips if you forgot lol.

I had a similar experience. The light itself appears to be good but setup is such a cluster. I just moved on to Radions on my budget build that is no longer budget lol

Yea honestly it took me about 30 mins. I looked up a video and read the instructions and put it together to get them to work. Wasnt horribly hard but wasnt necessarily easy

I love the light but eventually gave up on Wi-Fi mode. My mesh network does not have an option to have a separate ssid for 2.4ghz vs 5ghz bands. I tried unplugging some of my satellites to force a connection to one farther away and hopefully be forced to 2.4ghz (which has always worked for other device setups).

Just got mine running over an Evo 13.5g.

Was easy to set up wifi once I figured out how to read the instructions. Worked the first time. Likewise, was easy to adjust the schedule once I figured out how it works.

Currently just running LPS mode but will eventually set up and AB+like/Saxby schedule.

The colors really look amazing. My scoly has colors I never knew it had. Zoas too.

My issue with it roght now is that the flex arm isn't very long, so putting it on the left side of my EVO (aio chambers) puts the light only about 2 fifths of the length of the evo, so the right side initially was getting a bit of shade, so I have it angled up just a bit:

Second issue related to the first is light spill onto my floor and wall. You also can't look directly at the light because that glass lens is bright. I just ordered the shade from Parlaquatics so will post how it is after adding the shade.

Still, the corals and my RFAs look amazing. Hope they like it!

I'm going to start a post for K7 mini schedules so we can share what this light can do.

Not sure what lid you're using, but can you cut a notch on it so that you can mount the light on the horizontal side of the tank, or even on the black plastic of the AIO chamber where you have it now? That'll put the light closer to the tank middle at least.

Yup, would have to do a cutout, which would give it an extra inch or two. So far I'm getting good coverage and no shaded areas, so I'll probably leave it alone--planning a tank transfer to a larger system in any case!

I dont think you will be disappointed with the shade I have mine and the og model for the shade. Through numerous designs and concepts to find the perfect fit and style. Worked with Sam getting all measurements and feedback on some of the original concepts to be able to style the one he has up on his site. I am sure you will be happy with the outcome. Also would have to agree about cutting a notch out on the side if your tank lid to be able to mount from the side. What style of top do you have?

This is weird. I had mine up and connected in 5-6 minutes

What tank are you upgrading to and are you planning to get another light? Curious, does the Noopsyche have the option to put out more whites if one wants to get away from the blue tinge?

Thanks

Yea you can control it from the app. Set whites higher and blues lower you can remove blues altogether if thats your thing. Really the app helps control everything.
