Some updates about my equipment also. Today i have changed the second roll in my ClariSea SK5000 filter. In two and half mounth. I'm very happy how easy is the maintenance and how clean its my sump after two month.
What i notice and what i want to share with you in eventuality that you have one or you plan to use one is that if you rise the level of the filter in the sump to have maximum 16 cm of the filter boddy in water the roll will use much slower. Instruction advice 20 cm max water level but that's way too much and the filter will go fast.
The filter clean the water so fast and good that i start to ask myself if didn't stripe from the water all beneficial particle, coral food, because it's rated at 20 microns.
Early in morning before lights go on i use Koralen Zucht Snow and the tank become rally cloudy for 30 min but the sump water remain clear...

In my opinion, this will strip much more from the water than the filter roll.

Not sure if you are aware, but if you can find pure, finely powdered, food grade CaCO3 (Calcium Carbonate) it can do the same thing at a much lower cost. I used it for the first time last night. Here in the US a 5 pound bag was $12 USD shipped.

And now because i see so many people watching my thread i will as a question here.
I have a used Aquatronica system with a lot of sensors a modules. I have 2 Ph probe, 2 Redox, Temperature, Salinity, Density, Leak sensor, water level sensor and alarm, 4 power bars with 8 sockets each(!!!), SMS module, Ethernet module (Sadly never manage to connect),2 dosing pump with 3 pumps each, i can control all my Tunze 6095 powerheads.
The problem is that all probes it's old and i can't calibrate anymore it's hard to use from controller and i didn't manage to connect with my computer. If i buy this probe will cost me almost half of new Apex start kit system with 4 probe and one powerbar.
What is your opinion, an Apex system really deserve??

If my reefkeeper ever goes out, i'm going to splurge and get the Apex. Since reefkeeper is discontinued, parts are getting harder and harder to find. So if anything major ever happens to it i'll pull the plug on apex :) It's just so nice to have current parts, and product support. So I would say yes, go with apex :)

I try to contact them on Aquatronica web site... no answer...then no support

The Apex is nice, but I prefer the GHL. I think the Apex has nicer online software but I have found the GHL to be more reliable.

My opinion is also that many of the probes have little value. I like temperature and pH. I doubt I will replace my salinity or redox probes when they go out. I don't feel they offer enough value for their cost.

I agree with @Brew12. I only run pH and temp probes. Neither one of those is too expensive to replace.

Brew, what kind of problems did you have with Apex? Mine is about 6 years old and I'm sure one day I'll need to replace it. I did have a problem with it not updating software correctly(about a year ago) that resulted in my having to have "an appointment" for the Neptune guys to fix it remotely. Updating software is an adventure every time I do it. LOL

Mine wouldn't stay connected to Fusion. I was having to reboot the head ever 2 to 3 weeks. It was always just an inconvenience and didn't do harm. I think for some people they are a better choice than the GHL but I am very happy with my switch.

Thanks. I have order the Apex 2016. Was more an impulsive buy, because I don't believe that I relly need or that my tank will be better with it...
More bad is that I'm in the third day with No3 0. Po4 it's 0 from long time before. The good is that diatoms from the sand it's almost gone this days. I will see what bad stuff comes ... I feed 6 times each day last two days still nothing. I run the skimmer only 12 hours and I stop the algae reactor also last night. About skimmer I don't see any change in bad running only 12 hours because I have that Carisea filter who clean a lot. I'm not so happy to cut off the algae because of PH who dropped to 7.9 last night. I will be away for the weekend and I will see what happens after....

And I will say again that yo really know what you talk @Brew12. Thanks. Locks that I'm in a kind of euphoria and I started to add everything I find around into my tank... This Korall Zucht Snow works pretty good but not in my favour. I was Po4 0 since long time before now I'm also No3 0, maibe this is the reason. Thanks again. I didn't understand the proposal of this Snow from being.

Beautiful tank! Wow look at those corals!

Keep us posted, this is phenomenal! :)

Thanks so much. Thei words coming from you mean a lot for me !!
How are the corals doing? I know you had concerns with adding so many at once.
