Tried to facilitate safer travel for (2) Premium Snowflake Clowns as I live near the ORA facility in FL where they will be shipped from. I will not buy anything from LiveAquaria again. They DO NOT care about the animals they sell. They are an ONLINE company as Tammy pointed out many times.

technicaly its not bad customer service for not allowing you to pick them up its just not an option they provide. if they shipped them and it took a week to get and they died then did not refund you thats bad customer service.. why not just call ora and order threw them. technicaly since you did not purchase threw them your just online bashing a company.

“ORA is a wholesale operation selling exclusively to domestic and international retail pet and fish stores, distributors and wholesalers. If you are a hobbyist, we will be happy to help you find a store near you that carries ORA products.”

ORA themselves don’t allow just anyone to come into their facility for a host of reasons. If you’re really that close, it’ll be very limited stress. Captive-bred Clownfish are very hardy to begin with. I understand that you didn’t get what you wanted, but I don’t think it really reflects much on LA.

ya know stupid as it sounds often the lower level employees hands are procedurally tied. The right thing to do was get her supervisor and they could explain why. My guess is wholesalers are probably contractually tied not to distribute from site...be my guess anyway

call ORA directly and ask them if they allow customers to directly pick up from their facility. it may not be live aquaria who's not allowing this.

Agreed. . t ey sell to accounts and not to the public.
Is it silly - Yes
Is it policy - Yes

Your LFS should be able to order anything through ORA. This way they assume responsibility of reciept and delivery of fish to you

Wonder if it is a Petco policy or that of the new owners they are selling/sold to. Petco still has them listed on their website but news says it sold mid July.

it might be possible to pick up at the shipping facility, FedEx or whomever. I’m thought LiveAquaria had that option.

I think it’s expecting too much to ask one company to allow you to go to another company’s property just because they‘re one of their suppliers. It’s not their property after all.

I don't think I can respond to the OP in a manner that is fit for R2R. All I can say is, I feel bad for customer service representatives that have to deal with this type of behavior on the daily. But on a side note, thanks for the good laugh ;Hilarious ;Hilarious ;Hilarious ;Hilarious

I 100% agree and was having the same thought process of how I can tell this guy he's an idiot, without being too rude.

Yeah if you drive by ORA’s location frequently then you might also notice it is a guarded property (because of coastguard) that doesn’t make pickup anywhere close to ideal.

If you really want pickup closes you’ll get is a local lfs or the fedex or ups location

ORA is NOT Live Aquaria! You're moaning at a customer services rep, someone who follows a repeatable process, about something which isn't even their company.

Sorry but you're completely out of order and this is a ridiculous request.
I can understand you asking, but when they said no, why did you beat on them. It's not their facility.

More stress, less stress, whatever, you are 100% in the wrong here.

Yes their customer service is low information but its not their fault, they were just hired to do chat. My problem is I thought I was supporting a WI company that I thought keeps nice tanks (from their beautiful youtube videos) but I go online and my product is coming some random facility in California? or Florida? Didn't order the fish. Ended up going to an LFS and got something much cheaper and prettier.

I once had the best CSR that took calls for the program I implemented get berated for following the rules/procedures set out by the program. She was in tears and the call center lead reached out to me to call the customer and help address their concerns.

I asked my lead to find out my the CSRs favorite Starbucks drink and took care of the customer (they didn't qualify). Then went and bought the CSR the biggest size of drink I could. Delivered it and thanked her for all her hard work.

B/c of this if I have to call a call center with a complaint or issue I always preface with "I know this isn't your fault but I have a concern" then apologize before proceeding. They are just people trying to get through their day too.

They drop ship from wholesalers in Los Angeles, and from ORA in Florida. If you want fish from Wisconsin, those are their Diver’s Den fish which are pre-conditioned and screened for disease. You’d still be supporting a Wisconsin company, so I don’t really get your beef here.

So, imagine you live near the factory where they make Snickers candy bars. You walk up to the loading dock and the dock employees won’t sell you a Snickers bar.

Now, imagine going to the nearest grocery store and screaming at a 16 year old cashier because Mars won’t let you take candy bars right from the factory.

If that seems ridiculous, that’s what you just did to LiveAquaria and their CSR.

Get real, dude.
