so I noticed some stn on bases of my myagi torts..larger colonies. I have about 100 diff Sps in my 300 and nothing has ever been introduced without dipping. I was also qt all new
Corals in my basement 120 up until end of nov 2015 . Went on vacation in late November 2015 and to make it easier ( only one tank to worry about) for our house sitter I shut down the 120.
So no coral qt since December when we got back☹️. I know lazy.
Have still dipped all new corals but that's not enough .

So i dipped the myagi torts yesterday.
I saw no eggs and nothing that looks like the images of the aefw or videos I watched of aefw...but I'm assuming that's what is going on.

I decided to dip all the remaining Sps.
Just dipped the green slimer and found what I think are aefw..again no obvious eggs .

I plan on dipping all Sps in Bayer every 2-3 days and removing any obvious eggs and leaving main DT free of acros for a few weeks.

Any other ideas?

man that sucks. especially with a tank that size.
i think by you staying proactive with the bayer and dipping every few days you will be fine.
i dont personally have experience with aefw, but ive seen others do the same as you with success. albeit, they did it for over a month or so.

Just finished moving all the acros to the 80 gallon ...not terribly worried I think with the main tank devoid of Sps for a few weeks and repeated dips and egg scraping I will soon knock these little jerks out ..I have a 6 line wrasse in the 80g for good measure also.

Can you post a pic of what you found?
As you know, dipping doesn't kill the eggs.
Always good idea (when possible) to remove new frags from their plugs and either mount on new plugs or directly to your rock.
You would need to keep the sps out of the DT and dip over the course of the next 6 weeks or so to make sure you get through the entire egg cycle.

Dude that stinks.
You can't take that risk any more.
90% of the acro's in the trade have either AEFW or the eggs.
I just buy only frags and I have only 6 vendors in my favorites, no matter how awesome they look by others I just don't the risk even every new frag will go through quarantine for 6 weeks.

What you see is the AEFW and dipping every 5 days will be fine for 8 weeks.
Get some extra egg grade for your frag racks, when you dip swap out the frag rack for a clean one and the one you take out spray it with bleach and lay it in the sun for the next 5 days.
Replace every rock with encrusting in your tank for a new one or clean it with MA and let it dry in the sun for a few days before putting in.
All I can say is good luck and dip these suckers.

every 5 days for 8 weeks it is then.
All the corals look good in the QT with good PE and color.
I have read the threads on concentration of the Bayer and it seems quite variable what dose people are using. I used 5cc/cup of water. Should i go higher than this?

I guess my biggest question is:

IS IT ACTUALLY POSSIBLE TO PERMANENTLY ERADICATE THESE LITTLE BUGGERS FROM MY SYSTEM WITH THE DIPPING/SCRAPING AND QT FOR 8-12 WEEKS???

If no SPS is in the system they will starve to dead as fast as one week, depends of the size but Kate Rawlinson had none alive after 3 weeks.

so all the acros are out of the main tank ( will need to get rid of a little encrusted base of one of the large ORA red planet colonies which ill do tonight.
Left in the main tank:
Tubs stellata
Couple leptos
Hairy and non hairy pavona colonies
Monti caps
Monti undata
Large purple stylo
Yellow scroll ( turbinaria)
Forest fire digi frag
Birds nest ( pink)

This is all for the SPS...do I need to remove the above and dip also? From what I had read these corals are not targets for AEFW?

I had the same issue!!! I dipped everything for about a week then did 2 doses of flat worm exit. As of now I haven't seen or had anything show up. You will get through this!!!

You can dip them if possible but not needed, there's no food left if all SPS are gone.

Flatworm exit absolutely won't do a thing to AEFW, it's designed for planeria and a few more but they won't eat any of the corals.
