The best way, technically, is a bleach bath for ten minutes followed by a ten minute bath in a sodium thiosulfate solution. Although I know people will use vinegar or h202 solutions as well.

Sorry I wasn't able to get back right away. Looks like you got some great support! I agree with @AcroNem. It only takes a tank to dip copper below medicinal level once, or to add one new thing to the tank, or to transfer via aerosol transmission or cross contaminated, and the clock needs to start all over again for the treatment. The only thing I might suggest is that if you can get your hands on CP, I would recommend trying it instead of copper this time. There is a lot more wiggle room as far as effective dosage goes, and most fish tolerate CP treatment well. It also has the added benefit of working on multiple pathogens just as copper does. The difference is it has bactericidal properties so fish are better protected from infection due to the multiple exit holes of ich or velvet that normally increase the risk of infections.
