Is there any way wholesalers to know the True collecting habits of the exporters? I highly doubt it.
All wholesalers and retailers have is their word, and the hope that the country they are collecting them, strickly enforces a cyanide ban. Which would'nt be very good for that countries economy.

Im sure most of you have heard many of the devasting problems ive had and always try to find good out of bad or at least dont let things get me down.Wellthis one has me pretty upset and need to know the validity of this delima.Ive been wanting and researching the golden angle for quite some time and have been trying to get everything just right before i purchase one.i just found a current article about them that greatly disturbes me.they were first discovered in the 70s when collectors were useing cyanide to harvest.they are still so secrective and deep water they are still collected with chemicles and poisions.i cant buy a liveing creature caught in this manner and its really one fish i truly want.can someone please tell me this is untrue or if they know of a collector i can contact that collects them humanly.since my tank is completly empty and cleaned setting it up for one would b no problem but will give up on that dream if what they say is happening.Ill have no choice.can anyone out there tell me anything positive .thanks for listening and any help would be greatly appreaciated

Maybe you should call NY Aquatics?? I often see them with expensive and rarer dwarf angels, you should call to see if they can order one in special for you. I believe they also have a conditioning period for their fish.

Just looked and they actually have a Golden right now! They are very responsive with customers, I would shoot them an email and ask them some questions like how long they’ve had it, conditioning, is it eating? They often send pictures/videos of their fish as well. I would buy from these guys, very good track record. Link

thank you very much the help and kindness of you n folks amazes me.i have to set my tank up as i lost everything and just finished cleaning it out and there is another member who knows a diver that catches them so really like the idea of knowing how this beautiful creature is caught.thank you so very much for going to the trouble of finding one for me and showing me a new website.

It’s what I’m here to do I love people like you who really care about the health of their animals, and who I think will do a good job of taking care of them. Every time we buy livestock we have a responsibility to them to give them the best life possible and responsibly sourcing them is a big part of that!
