my info comes from every book and video that was made on setting up a new tank. light is a normal part of a mature system. algae is not easy to defeat by some one with no experience with it. i am done going back and forth with someone with your intellect. your a waste of my time.

I’m sorry you feel that way chum. The great thing about this forum is sharing experiences, successes and failures and learning from them. There are so many was to be successful in this hobby and sharing these ways with new reefers will only help them.

I was sharing the way I was taught and have been very successful.

Yea I'm also running an algea turf scrubber so its be nice to get that established early on. . . Still running lights for a few hours every night (2-3hrs)

i have the same 3 stage media basket you have on one side and their single on the other side. the only thing i use is their white/blue filter pad in the top of each one. you only need to use carbon/gfo or anything else if you are having problems. stock light, feed small amounts and keep up with water changes. make sure your fish are nano sized also. by the way, the one side of your tank looks like there is a weiner sticking out of the rock. lol.

So question guys and gals,

I have an Intank media basket, what should I put in there...I know floss for the top but what should I put in the other two...and should I wait for the need for such filtration before putting it in there? ... I've just been using the filter sock that came with for the cy le to try and keep it clean.
