there are.

a good friend warned me off the peroxide for zoas recently. He's an all pro too. ALL pro.

a ph balanced rodi(baking soda i think) dip(osmotic shock) should kill the nudis, still have to scrape the eggs.
and dont freak. Its a process but youll win. youll have to hit the hard stuff to dip later. and you probably will be.
H2o2 is safe for zoanthids :)

The usual course of action, Flatworm exit kills these things dead. Very easy. 2 doses 5 days apart and you are done. The second dose is to kill any that hatch from eggs that the first dose doesn't kill.

If that doesn't sound easy enough, a good hunting Halichoerus wrasse will make quick work of these pests. I actually got some in on a large wild zoa colony I had, and I watched my frag tank wrasse meticulously hunt them all down in about 3 minutes. Yup I knowingly placed them in, only because I had already unknowingly placed other pieces of that colony in there so that became my cleaner for a piece I had in a different system.

No argument different info and experiences.
Are you doing a full tank dose? That gets pretty heavy in a DT. Die off etc. it would totally nuke my tank.
I'm going to do few in my quarantine for the full course treatment. One of the ZOA dudes here recommended found a fifteen day course to kill the eggs. Did some research seems like a good reccomend.

And yea more folks have yucky bugs than they know but are lucky enough to to have the right animal to eat them and never even know.

Hey Todd hope it didn't come off as an argument. A 20 plus year vet. Been there sold that. Told me.
To most of the folks on the forum and the continental US. :D:)

So i need to dose with flatworm exit? Where do i find that stuff and you put it the tank?

yup I think your right 3 doses. Should be easy for the OP to search it out.

Flatworm exit sold almost any LFS obviously all the usual online retailers for reef supplies. Theres another one called "flatworm solution" that also works however I had some that even at heavy doses survived that. It should be basically the exact same thing as flatworm exit but in a different box. It really works great for flatworms and I often use it as a new coral dip as it kills all sorts of pest.

As Salty said, be careful as some say it will kill some unintended critters such as feather dusters, pods, and some say bristle worms but my bristles never seem to be affected by anything other than peroxide. Not so much a problem of killing off those critters, but the problem is those dead critters causing ammonia spike. I did several full tank doses with Flatworm Solution (to eradicate flatworms) and never had an issue despite having a large tank with a heavy bio load and all sorts of small hitch hiking critters.

Ok i look at both and yes that was what i had now the question.. my tank is 4 months old will this flat worm exit kill these things that may still be in my tank? I took all of the zoa frags out last night and dipped them it what i was told wouldn't work so i dipped them in fresh RODI. This would take care of the live ones but maybe not the eggs. If there are more that i didn't get should i treat the tank with this stuff or go another rout?

Oh no not at at all love your work too!

And i love both of your work :)
So can you advise me of how to treat the tank for possible eggs?
I have no idea what there gestation time is or how they came to my tank. Most of what i had in the tank was 38 days old and two frags 10 days old. I then added 7 new frags and found these stupid bugs the day after. So its possible the new frags may have been the culprit but its also possible there were eggs on something else that was already in my tank. Either way i need to be proactive and squash these pests asap.

my .02.

You can dose the entire tank with FWE. and deal with that.
You can dip and clean for the next several weeks, maybe add a bug eating fish.

Both work.

eggs I think, not sure, 7 to 15 days, in there somewhere.

I am pretty sure all the pest dips, will kill the adults and juveniles.
only a long dose of fwe kills the eggs. But This is from my research and the ZOA pro's here on the forum. It is going to be my approach in my new Quarantine.

burn them with fire!!! Those are nudibranchs and look to be the zoanthid eating kind. Stay on them and be relentless in your erradication of them or they will eat every zoa you have. I used revive, lugols, coral rx and flatworm exit to kill the adults and nymphs. You will need to manually scrape off the eggs or dip very frequently to catch the new hatchlings as nothing on the market will kill the eggs. Good luck and start dipping.

Just a few minutes, less than 5 should be fine. That coral dip isn't a bad idea either, it's a iodine based dip so it might kill the nudibranchs as well. Luckily Zoanthids are one of the toughest corals and handle dips very well. Make sure to wear gloves and goggles if possible, palytoxin isn't anything to mess around with.

One time I fell asleep while dipping some zoas. Woke up the next morning n threw em in the tank n they opened within a few minutes and were fine lol.

You gotta love when they can be so forgiving. It's funny how they can tolerate that kind of situation but then also be randomly closed and ticked off for a week for no apparent reason.

Or just die no matter how hard you try.

Haha right. My buddy gave me the frag one night right b4 I left his house. I don't take frags home b4 bed time anymore lol.
