FWIW, I had a dino outbreak a few months in to my first tank. I had no macro. Not sure the other contributing factors. Daily cleaning with the turkey baster and lights out didn't seem to do a whole lot of long term help. I was nervous to do daily peroxide dosing but it seemed to be the answer for my tank.
