I am reaching out to the members of R2R!
Many may know me as a pest guy, algae control guy or just a guy that likes to find answers to todays hard to rid of issue.
So I ask you all,
What would you like to know next?

Thanks!

I have something kinda wierd that I don't understand. I have a 12 gal nano and when I first started it I used a product called Nano Parts A&B. From what I understood it was a buffering product. I stopped using it for years and recently started using it again. So you add part A and wait 5 minutes, then add part B. Sometimes when I do this the product coagulates and my tank looks like a snow globe. I called the company and he said some fancy stuff I didn't understand, but basically he said if my tank is perfectly balanced it will look like the snow globe, and no harm is done.

Does any of this make sence to you. Not sure it is something worth writing up, but to me it's a puzzle.

Its precipitation of calcium :-)
That is a balance issue and I would suggest on a nano at least an hour between doses.
I would write up but randy has this covered :-)
Thank you!

Uhmmmmmmmmmmmm..................... We all know where we were 25 years ago with NO WWW and social media and had to rely on magazines, long phone calls between hobbyist, books, gatherings at LFS, frag-swaps, meetings, shows and somewhat television for info and experience on a topic or subject.
That said what had the social media a impact on the hobby, on hobbyist, trade in corals and fish and important foremost the knowledge.
I can almost say with the info you get now days if you use the Google app that not one tank can crash and everything is going perfect as we should all grow corals out of the tank and not one fish will ever die again in captivity.................. or are we over Googled and just over do the simple task and because of that we create a disaster or chase each other from behind the keyboard.
Yes, what has the impact from social media and the WWW on this hobby

How about an explosion of asterina starfish or bristleworms?
Honestly they are great at what they do but I do know fenbendazole will rid of them. I need something new!

Do sea spiders ever creep into people's tanks? I don't like spiders, even though they are not real spiders, they are creepy.
Have you don't anything on bubble algae?

Well, let the 4387 members and 9 TeamR2R members decide what the WWW and Social media had a impact on them in this hobby.
The Beauty of this hobby is that most have their own story.
If you got into this hobby through the WWW and Social Media and before all that in the time that your Timex analog wrist watch had to tell you or in my case when my dog came to me for his 10pm late night walk in the park it was also time to turn the lights off............ oh you mean timers...... nah they were around but didn't want to spend $39 on a analog mechanical timer that was never accurate any ways.
Bring your story and I'm listening, oh and @Paul B ......... he can't play :p

After the famous skimmer thread I think you should start one on tank sizes for tangs (ducks, covers and runs!). :p

That was a good one but I am not involved with fish lol

How about a solid natural solution to red planaria infestation that won't cause a toxic reaction to the whole tank?

Any high pH additive, such as the alkalinity part of most two part systems, will precipitate some magnesium hydroxide when added. That is normal and it will redissolve after it mixes in for a while.

Adding slowly to a high flow area minimizes the effect. :)

Here's the article where I discuss this effect:

I know, it was the most controversial topic I could think of at the time! :)

There are several of us battling diatoms that just won't seem to go away in tanks that are far from new (3 years old in my case).

Man, I'm wracking my brain but I just can't think of anything NEW! I can't even think of anything for ME to write about! lol Looks like we both need inspiration! :D

Ya being home all day every day makes me want to write!
Like zoa eating nudies.. but I dont have any

Have you done Zoa spiders? I've found a few at the store while doing dips on new colonies. They are creepy and gross.
