ok which light?

im trying to choose between a 6x54 or a 8x54w for my 105g that in 29" tall. the 8x54 is on back order for a few weeks and i really want this one. the 6x54 is available now but i dont want to hit myself later when i come to find out i need more light. (mixed reef)

Definitely the 6 bulb fixture.With only 18" depth the 8 bulb fixture would be a bit too much.

That is a pretty tall tank but still only 18" deep(front to back)

if it is just too much light ok, but the 8 bulbs do stay in the 18" depth

Yes it does,but it will just give you more coverage from front to back.A 6 bulb fixture will cover a 18" deep tank no doubt.

i have an 8 bulb its too much in my opion but more the better i guess if i would do it again i would do the 6 bulb not the 8 bulb i have now

too pricey for me, thanx though.... i have 8 6w leds to mount in the back for a little shimmer, and i am ordering the 6 bulb tomorrow morning+ i have 1 17w deep water led moonlight

I have a 8 bulb 36in fixture on my 120 and love it. It is 6inches wider than yours. So I think a 6 bulb will light the tank about right!
