With all the new acro's becoming favorites. What are some favorite Arco's that have been around for awhile. Like 10-15 years ago. It would be awesome if we could get pictures of what you have and how long.

Blue Oregon tort, Milka, 500$ efflorescence, tricolor efflorescence, green bird nest, Many of he ORA lineup like: red planet, joe the coral, bottle brush, green bird nest...

I got into the hobby in 2000, there were some named corals back then like the PM, and the Larry Jackson's Tri-color I think was one of the first named corals, but then the names ones began picking up.

Here is my list of old time acros that I think every sps tank should have. But how far do you want to go back? Really ten years isnt that long anymore. When I think of old time acros I think of the Oregon Tort, Purple Monster, Pink Lemonade, Garf Bonsai, Icefire Enchinata, ORA Hawkins, Snipers Bubblegum milli, Palmers blue milli (or the Sapphire Milli which isn't as old), California Tort, Frag Farmers Red Robin, Greg Hiller;s Aqua delight, Lime in the Sky, Rommel's Watermelon, is an old one and nice when its colored up, Ultimate's Rainbow, I would also say Vivid's Rainbow is pretty old too. Some of Tubbs old stuff too, he was one of the original vendors of named corals, so he had Tubbs Pink Jade, Aquamarine jewel, a couple of others that were once widespread. There are other old ones, but these are ones that I would say are still amazing to this day. I have owned them all at one point in time, and right now I have all the ones listed with the exception of the Lime in the Sky, red robin, pink jade and Aquamarine Jewel.

Back then the main sellers that come to mind were ReefFarmer (tyree), Tubbs, FragFarmer before they went full commercial, Ultimate corals (which was Rommel/ SniperSps if I remember correctly), Atlantis Aquarium. Then Blane Perum came along with PPE and started the designer zoa craze, and I really think that it upped the entire name game. Back then it was even harder to get some of these, it was usually easier to get them from local hobbyist's. Back then the hobbyist were actually hobbyists too lol, they weren't all taking awful picture and charging insane vendor like prices. I know I also purchased corals from Your Reef and Cherry Corals as far back as 2008, but they didn't have their own acros back then or at leas that I remember. Your Reef did originate the Bazooka Joe Chalice.

(I still love my original green slimer, I don't have room for it in my display, but i keep a frag alive in my frag tank for when I finally get a bigger tank lol) All the old ORA stuff, but for must have I would say the Hawkins and Red Planet or my favorites.

There are probably a lot around ten years ago, like ORA Red Planet, Red Dragon, Pro Corals Rainbow, and Pro Corals Superman, the sunset mills became popular, (although Ultimates Insane Sunset was one of the early ones), While these have been around a long time I don't consider them real oldies lol.

We can go back later then 10 years. I had a reef tank back in 1990.

I am more interested in the corals that were around in 1990 and aren't really popular now.
My vote for my favorite older corals would be most of the Bennett torts and the old lokani's by far. These are still the hardest to find out of all of them ime.

$500 efflo

Yeah that's quite a classic and not very common. Been on the look for one and scored a frag in MACNA which went through hell on the way back home and is still deciding if itll STN or recover.

Purple Monster & Oregon Tort are two of my favorites along with the ORA Pearlberry and Greg Hiller's Aqua Delight.

Do you have a picture of your becker tort? I always get it wrong and say bennett for some reason... Probably because I worked with a guy with that name.
