Got to try out my new Olympus TG-6 underwater camera. I love the different types of photos that I can get with it.
Does anyone else use this camera? What settings do you use? Any tips or tricks?

It does a great job! I would definitely recommend it. I still need to figure out the best setting for it but so far I am loving the results. I almost prefer it to my Canon camera that I normally use for coral pics.

I picked up the TG6 and I’m struggling. My pics seem to be heavy blue with daylights on. Is there a orange filter kit for it? How do you like it now that you’ve had it awhile?

Still really like how simple it is to use. All of the pics in my most recent for sell post were take with the TG6. (No filter) It’s not as sharp as a DLSR but it’s nice not to have to use a porthole. It does take some time to figure out the white balance. But now that I’ve found a WB setting that works I just set my lights to 18k for zoas, etc and then 14k-16k for acros.

Just need to set the white balance, go into underwater and look up how to capture white balance

Ok thanks guys. I’m tired of embarrassing iPhone pics and ready to see my corals shine.
Play around with the white balance. I believe we have our set to the highest the camera will go. You can have the camera set it's own white balance with a picture but doing that didn't ever turn out the way I wanted it to.

I use this camera as well and love it! It takes really nice macro shots as well. Are you using the camera underwater and if so, do you have an underwater case for it?

Tried just the auto picture setting yesterday. While some pics look good most had a blue tint. And a lot wouldn’t even focus. I’m going to find the white balance setting and try again.

Pictures look great, I use the Nikon 1 AW1 for diving haven't upgraded that camera yet and the Nikon Z7II and Nikon 105 macro with a porthole for shots in and out of the tank. but this looks nice to consider for underwater.

I use it underwater all the time. We don't use an underwater case. The camera is made to go up to a certain depth without a housing.

We used a Cannon Rebel for a long time and honestly it did somethings better than the Olympus T6 but for getting different angles and different shots inside your tank, I couldn't be happier with this camera. Plus it is super quick to get a great looking shot.

Here is how we have our camera set up.
Fish macro setting ( on the dial)
-1 to -.03 exposure
Cwb 1400k
Auto IOS-a
Raw
Auto focus
4000*3000
Still-i.s on
Flash off
ESP
Underwater

Again we have our lights set between 14k and 18k with T5s and radions. Hope this helps a little!

Just a precaution. I used to do the same but just had to send mine back for a new one. Using it underwater caused a haze under the lens that I could not remove. It affected all pictures.

I will not use the camera again without an underwater housing. Again, this might never happen to yours but figured I would pass along the info.
