Ok guys its been 79 days!! tomorrow is the big day, i had been managing ich for the last 10 years and got fed up!!

i removed ALL my fish put them in a 200g treated them with paraguard for 2 weeks, then copper for 1 month. copper is still at .3

the problem is that i see 2 of my fish rub themselves on the pvc!!! no ich ,no nothing on there skin!!!

i do water changes every 2 weeks or so (50% or so) and re medicated! but its a lot of fish in a 200g system water quality does not look that good , no amonia but the water is not crystal clear.

sooooo!! what to do??? could the rubbing be from poor water quality???

HELP!!!!

I would do a water change and run carbon. After all medication is removed from the water I would keep them under observation for two or three days. But, thats me. Others may suggest other methods.

Think about it this way. When you get a shot or a cut or a burn for that matter. After meds are administered and your healing up.... do those parts of your body itch? It could just be the fish are healing and it's itchy :D Mine were doing the same thing long after copper was done with and now they are doing it less and less.

jajajaj nice way to put it!![emoji106][emoji106] so ill be doing this tomorrow!! thank you so much!!

What brand of copper did you use? And during the 1 month of copper treatment, what level were the fish treated at? .3 or something higher?

i used cupramine at .5 for a month. did water change and was left at .3

You should be good to go then for ich/velvet. Are the fish targeting their gills when they rub? Just wondering if gill flukes could also be in play here, as those require a different treatment - Prazipro.

i did use paraguard for flukes, y just did a 40% water change with water from the display, lets see what happends!

I would suggest treating them for the last time with cupramine and prazipro....I mean, you waited that long, why take chances. Paraguard has not been proven to cure ich or marine velvet.

I would normally use Paraguard during the first week of QT while I am observing newly acquired fish but immediately follow up with cupramine and prazipro for week 2 to 4
