The problem is ich can harbor inside a fish's gills, out of sight. Do you happen to have an Acanthurus tang? IME; Ich usually shows up on one of those within a month. They are the closest you are going to get to an "ich canary".

yes i have a powder blue and he is 100% spot and rub free, there is also a sohal, frekel face, epatus, orange shoulder, vlamingi, purple, mata and they are chasing the hell out of each other...
With that many tangs in QT, I'm surprised you don't have all out war going on.
That PBT is the best ich canary of the bunch IMHO.

You're probably good BUT if that fish does show signs of ich, won't you have to start the 72 days all over? I'd run carbon to remove the copper and watch for a week or two. With battling tangs in qt, I'd think the stress level in the tank would trigger an outbreak quickly.
