Hi everybody. Anyone have any online suggestions? My LFS only deals in freshwater fish. A town over there is a petco which I’ll use for certain things, other than that I have to venture 3 hours to the Seattle area. Which I will do on occasion. But buying online seems to be the easier option unfortunately. I bought a couple things from vivid aquariums online but everything died. Thanks everyone.

I have had the most luck shipping corals and motile inverts. Fish i have had a mixed bag of what arrives. Most of my online fish orders have been for freshwater not saltwater but with fish i would read very closely their doa/return policy before order and also make sure you are home on the delivery day at time of delivery and have an intake tank to accept them too right away.

Corals and inverts i find its ok to have delivered somewhere like my job or the regional ups center, and acclimate at my discretion a few hours later with no harm to the creatures as long as they held indoors in a climate controlled room.

Yes I will have everything to my wife’s work. She has the freedom to head home when something arrives, and she is partially in this with me as long as I do most the work lol.

Where at in Washington state are you? I’ve had good look with fish off Live Aquaria, I keep the fish choices simple mostly captive bred and simple wrasses/jawfish. No tangs or angels from them myself.

Companies i have had the best luck with corals are @PacificEastAquaculture dr. Mac runs an awesome operation, and Rachel is absolutely fantastic with any questions or concerns.

Wwc is fast and reliable, and great working with their customer support, can even do quickly through r2r pm

Liveaquaria, all their corals are photographed under white light so their pictures dont pop as much as their corals do in person.

Worldwide corals for sure. I have the privilege of being 2 hours away so i drive there once a month and get my coral from them. Ive also bought from them online if im lazy and its always arrived perfectly.
I haven't had much luck with online fish orders unfortunately I can't help you there.

I know some might disagree but personally I've had really good luck with Petco, the staff there have given me way better advice than the staff at the LFSs nearby. Also I don't know whether this is true for all of them, but mine will special order fish corals or inverts if you ask them. If yours will also special order that might be a better option than having fish shipped directly to you, it would save you on shipping costs if nothing else.

I didn’t know that, I’ll ask them next time I’m there. Thank you.

I'm still nervous about ordering fish online, but I have had good luck with coral. Way better than my local LFSs. WWC is awesome, but I also can't say enough about AquaSD. Everything I've ordered from them has been healthy, got it fast, and looks great. Also get some freebies here and there.

Check out the shark reef in silver dale. I special ordered some stuff from there. Owners a pretty nice guy. I’m a fan of live Aquaria. Ordered both from divers den and the regular LA and wouldn’t hesitate to continue.

I have not been to shark reef yet. I will check it out soon. Still a days trip to and from so it can be hard to organize those sorts of things with general life happening.

Fish - Live Aquaria / Divers Den

Corals / Inverts - WWC

These are my go-to spots and the only spots I trust. I would add Unique Corals with World Wide Corals. Those two are the best in my opinion, always excellent experiences and the only corals I trust putting into my tank because of their stringent quarantine process. Shipping fish is always a gamble but Live Aquaria guarantees your orders for 2 weeks I believe which is usually sufficient. WWC and Unique Corals have a 10 day guarantee and even when I have had a coral shipment come a day late because of UPS all my Corals from them have survived which says a lot.

Thank you I will check them out.

I have had good luck with
Wwc
Jason Fox
Battlecorals

I’ve had bad experiences with
Cornbread corals (will never buy again from him)
Poto or pieces of the ocean

I would amend my previous list to include Battlecorals, Unique Corals, and Aqua SD.

Before I was just giving my favorites.

A great source for fish, however I don’t believe it’s fully live for the masses yet is @Humblefish who is well known for his care of fish is beginning to sell fully quarantined fish. You’ll pay a markup compared to LFS’s, but well worth it for fish to have gone through his QT process.

Most online retailers at pretty good, check the return policy.
