Ordered some Blackworms to feed with! What's your opinion?

Recently got a new Aussie Copperband Butterfly and it's eating just not much! So I ordered some blackworms today to help supplement the diet and get him eating properly.

I did a little research but was wondering about your thoughts on feeding Blackworms to the reef tank?

How often and how much are you feeding?

None of my fish are picky enough to only eat black worms. So I feed them occasionally, like a treat. My yellow long nose butterfly loves them!

I'm currently feeding twice a day at a minimum and more frequently when I'm home on the weekends. Two portions of worms from my LFS typically lasts about 3 weeks when refrigerated and rinsed daily. I don't breed them...having worms in the fridge is the most my wife will tolerate (allow).

I've had CBBs eat blackworms and then I've had some that had no interest

I've gotten hundreds of finicky butterflies to eat with blackworms, they're great. Try attaching some krill to a rock with a rubber band. This has worked well for me too.

Sorry--missed that question earlier. I typically feed about 4-5 pinches of worms each time since the other fish eat most of it.

My Tang, Angel, and just about everything in my old 60 cube loved those things. Talk about a feeding frenzy!

My cbb never took to live black worms. The rest of my fish, however, loved them. Eventually the cbb took to picking off fresh clams on a half shell.

They keep quite well in fresh water. Even breeding isn't a huge challenge.
They are regarded very well in the freshwater world. Decent nutrition, clean desease free animas that don't stink and can be bread easily.

How long do they survive in saltwater?

I feed once in a while, more of a treat to change things up. Same with live brine shrimp.

I just don't want to set up a system to breed/raise them myself and I don't want to go to the LFS often to stock up. I go maybe once a month to get a week's worth and feed with their regular feeding.

I feed blackworms every other or sometimes every day. Once a week I feed corals with them. I get a great response out of acans euphilliya some platygyra some favia and all ricordea. My duncans go nuts for them as well.
