The crazy thing is I was just in Portland OR last week and could have gotten a frag of the original colony. Ugh. Should have pulled the trigger but I simply ran out of time. I am hoping to get back up there for work so maybe next time...

So, who has the "original colony" now? I lived in PDX when this coral came in and was noticed. About a mile from the shop. I didn't think that Waves was still in business..... Maybe the owner or shop employee kept the original colony? I remember staring at it in utter disbelief that a coral could have the color it did. At the time, it was $100 per 1/4" and seemed crazy but SO amazing. A bit of interesting facts, UpScales (as in UpScales Microlades) is about 1-2 miles from where Waves was ( Waves in a glorified storage space with office entrance).

Still my favorite coral. I've had it in five tanks with the largest growing to about Nerf football size before a crash due to a hasty switch to LED's during a very busy work time.
