Osmolator 3

I bought one but it likely wont get used for a month or so. Hopefully someone chimes in on how it is.

Got mine last night. Going on my new set up. My current tank has an older 3155 that keeps not topping off. Have to check it daily once I rub the sensor off it starts filling. Guessing its getting a film on it or something not much option to reposition. Thought id get a new one and saw this new model figured i'd give it a try. Im also a few weeks from actually putting it in to action.

Does this come with a controller? I can't find any thing showing one, or is this just an upgrade to the 3155.

How strong is the pump? My ro container is about 80 feet horizontally and 18 feet vertically. They don’t give a lot of info, can this ato run bigger pumps if the stock unit is not strong enough?

I put one on a framed tank with a hang on back filter. Works fine so far. I like that it's compact all the 'brains' are built into the sensor. Only two issues so far:

- I'm not sure about the high level sensor - the manual describes it as a temperature sensor. So i'm not sure how 'quick' acting it is or how reliable. Also since it's built into the compact size you can't change the distance between top off and the high level failsafe. It's also why i'm hestiant to put in my sump where when return pump is off the sensor would be completely submerged. At moment i keep the float sensor for the original 3155 multiple inches above to account for the sump level raising when return is off.

- Because my tank has a frame I can't put the sensor at the level i originally wanted because of the magnets and frame being in the way. Had to drop level about an inch lower than i initially wanted. Minor issue but was unexpected and i had the same issue (but worse) with the red sea ATO which i tried to use on that tank first...

So would you have rather kept/gone with the 3155? I have a brand new in box 3155 I was about to install and now thinking of selling it for the new 3 (3154)

Mine is finally up and running and love it. It’s silent! I do wish they would have included some suction cups or something for the pump and maybe a nozzle to get the intake closer to bottom of Resivor.

Silent is appealing. I just replaced the pump on my 3155 (got it used}) and thought it'd be silent... It ain't.. Not loud but was hoping for better. Maybe if I turn the speed down.. :thinking-face:
