Osmolator 3

Mine is finally up and running and love it. It’s silent! I do wish they would have included some suction cups or something for the pump and maybe a nozzle to get the intake closer to bottom of Resivor.
Do you/did you have the 3155? After buying I was told they are extremely loud. The 3(3154) is silent?

Ah that was my fear. Tbh I don't mind the volume it is now as I know it kicks on and is working but before the old one went it would wake me up and the tanks in another room; until it finally quit.

The noise can be comforting since it alerts you that the equipment is working :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

That's one way to look at it. But from videos I've seen. It's a pretty obnoxious sound. Enough that I'm considering selling it and taking a loss to get the 3 lol

Oh it’s obnoxious especially if the tank is in a room you’re constantly in.

I’ll be picking up the 3 in the next month or two

Got mine last night. Going on my new set up. My current tank has an older 3155 that keeps not topping off. Have to check it daily once I rub the sensor off it starts filling. Guessing its getting a film on it or something not much option to reposition. Thought id get a new one and saw this new model figured i'd give it a try. Im also a few weeks from actually putting it in to action.
Mine does the same. It stops when I dose phyto or just AFR so I have to rub the sensor about once a week. After a while it doesn’t work anymore so I let it soak in citric acid and it’s good for another 1-2 months.

Silent is appealing. I just replaced the pump on my 3155 (got it used}) and thought it'd be silent... It ain't.. Not loud but was hoping for better. Maybe if I turn the speed down.. :thinking-face:
I have put two layers of filter floss under my pump. I really dampens the sound.

Thats funny I dont dose anything just weekly waterchanges. It would make sense if I dosed, but I guess since the sensor is in the display it may be getting film algae on it. Just have to take a tooth brush to it daily and its good.

Why? It’s not a customer service issue. It will get far less eyes in the Tunze forum which is the opposite of what’s needed to discuss a new product
Only customer service issues are served in the Tunze forum? It will get Roger's eyes there. Why would an active thread get less eyes?

The OP says nothing about Roger or wanting to get his attention. The OP asked for opinions from the community. The Tunze sub forum isn’t visited at nearly the rate this one is.

The sponsor forums are almost solely dedicated to customer service or asking the specific company question. Neither apply here.

I hooked my Osmolater 3 up and so far I like it. It was pretty much easy to set up.

Mine is half way hooked up...lol. Waiting for tank to cycle as I started cycle and didnt have my sump at the level I want to keep it at. So I just top off daily until its cycled and I do my first waterchange. Then ill set the level and finish installing it.

Well, mine has been up and running for a couple weeks now. Pump is silent, set up was easy, its quick acting, I like it quite a bit more than the 3155. Not that there is anything wrong with the 3155. There are lights in the sensor (can't remember if this was asked in this thread or not) green is good, blue is pumping, and red is too high-water level. As soon as the high-water sensor gets covered in water it turns the red light on and shuts down the pump. The high-water sensor is only about 1/4" over the main sensor so unless you have a huge return section it should shut down pretty quickly.

For the guys who own a 3155 you can upgrade the pump to the new high jet pump from the Osmolator 3 so you get the best of both worlds

Has anyone used this pump as a standalone and used the neptune sensors? The apex atk pump is loud and would love to switch to the 3's pump.
